Hi Pat I served on her as JOS from 6th Dec 62 to 23rd Jan 63, very happy memories of the West coast on her lovely ship with a great crew. Regards Mike

Michael, you must be the only person I know who has 'happy' memories of the West Coast of Africa, now, happy memories of the West coast of South America I can understand

Everyone seems to forget Takoradi, Didn't anyone else get there. Ivan there was nothing wrong with the West Coast mate, I personally always enjoyed the local cuisine that was cooked up in the Focsle Head by the Crewe Boys { Pepper Soup } It certainly kept you regular Terry.

Ted I was in Takoradi a few times loading bauxite for Burntisland, I certainly preferred Burntisland and my wee Scottish lassie, the Captain's wife who came aboard everytime in Burntisland tried to marry me off to wee D...…..y and got the Captain to do my nights aboard, but I suspect that she had an ulterior motive and also wanted a bit of privacy when the Captain's bunk was sqeeking!
