Michael, you must be the only person I know who has 'happy' memories of the West Coast of Africa, now, happy memories of the West coast of South America I can understand
:dream:
Everyone seems to forget Takoradi, Didn't anyone else get there. Ivan there was nothing wrong with the West Coast mate, I personally always enjoyed the local cuisine that was cooked up in the Focsle Head by the Crewe Boys { Pepper Soup } It certainly kept you regular Terry. :1zhelp:
Ted I was in Takoradi a few times loading bauxite for Burntisland, I certainly preferred Burntisland and my wee Scottish lassie, the Captain's wife who came aboard everytime in Burntisland tried to marry me off to wee D...…..y and got the Captain to do my nights aboard, but I suspect that she had an ulterior motive and also wanted a bit of privacy when the Captain's bunk was sqeeking! :whoopdedoo:
IVAN, There is a rascal of an old dog in you mate, A wolf in sheep's clothing not that i am knocking you i remember a certain ships second mate who had his drop dead gorgeous wife aboard ????????????? If bulkheads could speak :love10:
What about Bathurst Gambia, Conakry, Warri, Burutu, Sapele a great club for the local Europeans but the swimming pool was closed on numerous occasions due to the water being full of p.ss, but they always made you welcome. Rgds Den
