But we soldier on dont we Jim,and the life we live now although so much different from the past,is still one full of hope and Joy.

chinese prince
did a similar trip on brazilian prince(old liberty ship) in 52.never got us rates though.
did you ever get to frisco paddy,s second hand clothes store.
we used it a lot as in those days it wasnt possible to get american clothes in the uk.
it was rumoured that he collested his clothes from the morgue and that some guys found holes made by knives or bullets.i think that was a bit of an urban myth

there was a salvation army store in longbeach LA. most of the clothes were from film stars who would only wear a shirt or suit once. had some great stuff from there including a collarless drape jacket belonging to one of the fifties singers. cheers alf

Chinese Pince
Hello Jim,
I was 4/Off. on Chinese Prince 1948 - 1949 (probably a while before you). Before that I was a Cadet on the Samtredy and the Highland Prince. After the Chinese Prince was 3/off. on the Maltese Prince before leaving England to migrate to Australia. Any other "old timers" out there ?
All the best ..... Peter.
