promotion
In 1956, second trip, on the watts watts greenwich as deck boy, I was promoted to ass steward on the homeward leg from NZ. Only reason that came about was so many from catering jumped ship in NZ. worked out well as I was pretty well in debt to the ship when we sailed for home. It was noted as deck boy and ass steward in my discharge book.
regards Stan
