    Default Black prince

The FRed Olsen Black Prince went into service on October 1966 and is still in service. She is a Class1 passenger vessel. She has had a few upgrades.
She was sailing from Greenock for a while. A nice passenger ship, not like todays rubbish. 44 years old.

    Hullo Gulliver,
Some good photos there, I remember that lovely little ship very well, I sailed on her as 2nd Cook & Baker and also as Chief Cook. I can't tell you the dates at the moment as I am in Brasil, ( I never Winter in the UK these days ) but I shall look in my old discharge books when I get home in April. 2011.
    Cheers, Archie.

Default Fred Olsens " Black Prince"

    Hi All,
We went on the "Black Prince" ( aprox 18,000 tons, Fred Olsen Line ) for a Medi Cruise, it was a converted Scandinavian Car Ferry, a nice small ship, the aft deck could be lowered to make a pontoon so you could go sailing on a small skiff or water ski, won't mention the latter as it was a bloody nightmare, went up and up out of the oggin then down with a Big splash done my back in for weeks ARGHH. Still least I tried. :: Think it's been scrapped now though.
