Default Port boats in th e60's

Sailed on the Port Wellington, Port Hobart, Port Quebec, lost 3kilos starving and the opposite to luxury.
never the less they were great times when only 20-21 years old when on KG5 pool.

But those of us who went to the Vindi then sailed on such ships never suffered from being overweight.

    Hi Toney.
I always wanted to sail on a Port boat, they always looked smart, but it sounds like I was wrong. Me and my mate were going to go down to one of the London Pools to try and get on one, but if I'm correct we were told we were tied to the Swansea pool.

I sailed on Port Huon. Good feeder, think I put on 3k. Lost it all later aboard an Ellerman boat out of Liverpool.

Never before heard complaints about food on any Port line ships. 11 month trip on Port Montreal and food was great all the time. Never short of booze either!!!!!

Sailed on Port Wellington in 1966 as an SOS. Skinned out in Port Melbourne 13th December 1966 and have been in OZ ever since. My nickname was 'Jock the Noo'. Best shipmate was Roy Bowman.
