Abiding by the law and the concept of common decency is not "utopia"; I'd consider it the prerogative of every normal human being.
You seem to suggest that we give politicians carte blanche to engage in their corruption because of xyz that goes on elsewhere.
Defending those that shaft us simply because things might be worse abroad is a peculiarly British idiom; other countries would call it abject stupidity.

With reference to your reply to me about item#9 above, let me catagoracally state that in the fifty eight years that I have been on the voters roll, I have NEVER voted for any of the English parties as I have been a member of the SNP since 1965, when I was an apprentice in a light engineering works.

Re: Boris has not gone
I think my grandfather may have been also as every time I met him he was always going on about home Rule for Scotland . Most people ignored him including his 3 daughters , one my mother, who would no way entertain his political followings , being all married to Englishmen you could say they had been anglised . JS

Re: Boris has not gone
Political corruption is a way of life for many polis.
Our state premier has shut down a corruption hearing as it was centered on him and his gov, not happy about that.
AS to the USA guy, love him or hate him he did a lot of good in the short time he was there, many from USA wil tell you that.

Re: Boris has not gone
James, it is patently obvious that when it comes to politics you are not a complete idiot as it is also patently obvious that there is something adrift with you on this subject.
You hate the conservatives but give no valid reason for this.
Praising the acts of Labour even when there have been times they have stuffed up big time.
The fact is both sides are about as much use as tits on a bull when it comes to the working man.
But we all make our own choice in these matters so you are no worse than therest.

Re: Boris has not gone
John , this Tory Government is destroying the UK. I suspect you are of the same opinion about your mob in Australia.
Thankfully during the recent Protocol talks Rishi & James Cleverly managed to slip an agreement in about protecting the London Financial sector.
Brussels drops UK-EU banking veto after Rishi Sunak’s Brexit deal.
Path cleared for greater financial services cooperation, with Commission saying efforts will also be made to cut border bureaucracy.
Is this the first steps for the UK & EU to kiss and make up, maybe start planning EU memebership again.

Oh do grow up! I wait with baited breath on your stance when the full shenanigans of the SNP are brought to the fore!! IMHO I would suggest there are very few politicians from any party that could be placed on a pedestal and that living in the La La land of the SNP strongly suggests that your definition of a government.....any government, simply proves you know bu88er all
