Re: Boris has not gone
Yes, Boris told lies. By omission and deception and just downright not telling the truth. A lie is never little or white or any other euphenism that we use to disguise the truth.
A previous PMinister....
He took us to War- twice- on the flimsy premise of 'Weapons of Mass Destruction'. Tell that to the bereaved.
What is the truth behind the death of David Kelly?
Devolved Governments? Wasn't going to cost the tax payer any more. Oh yeah.
The Bank of England given the power to determine Interest Rates without Govt. say-so.
Good Friday Agreement. I give him lots of credit for that.
Knighthood.

Re: Boris has not gone
I've never felt "entertained" by a politician before Boris came along, that was another good thing about him. He was never immaculately dressed or groomed like most other PMs. I think it was him being PM, that brought out the snideness in all the other politicians too, showing what they're all really like. So yes, he was a good PM, even for producing those gems.

Re: Boris has not gone
The death of David Kelly suspect MI5 or MI6 would likely have the answer to that. War in Iraq 150 tory MP's voted with the government. No one ever wonder what President Bush actually told Blair. It was mentioned that Bush said to Blair, if you do not join us we will go in onour own but that may have reprecussions on the special relationship.

Well I suppose it all comes down to whether you want to hold yourself and others to higher standards than those acceptable in the gutter or not.
Mistakes born out of ignorance or the impertinence of youth are one thing, but I do not shift from the position that the most powerful individuals in the country - who are all otherwise "grown ups" - and who make decisions that affect us all and represent us on the world stage should be required to act impeccably with appropriate consequences to follow should they transgress.
If we do not demand better then things will never get better, it's that simple.

Re: Boris has not gone
Here in NSW e have a Crime Commission that only gets stuck into Parliamentarians, many a MP has been put in jail since it's inception. Our new Govt in Canberra has promised the same there , so far no news about it. Don't you have one in the UK?

Re: Boris has not gone
From what we saw of it Boris was no better or worse then many others before him, or even after.
He is a politician, they do not live in the real world, rather one of egotistical elegance, dreams of impossibilities and finding ways to increase taxes so they can continue to live the dream.
Our interest rates here in Oz were set by the gov until about 1993 then it was given to the central bank to deal with, correct way.

Happy daze John in Oz.
Life is too short to blend in.

Have to smile reading the innocent/deluded posts of some on here! If you think we are the only nation in the West to have had a bold leader then read up on the skullduggery and shenanigans of Charlie Haughey, Ireland's ''Great Houdini''
