I ask today you not forget,
Who gave their lives without regret.
In endless lines the fallen sleep,
While others rest in ocean deep.

They came from many walks of life,
Left their homes for fearsome strife.
Some were close as kin to me,
But all came forth to keep us free.

The years pass on and memory fades,
Of countless men in those brigades.
They were the ones came to the fore,
And gave their lives forever more.

Today we pause to thank them all,
Amid the bugler's echoed call.
They gave their all they met the test,
In fields, at sea, forever rest.
