Default This one gets me every time.

I have always loved this short but very emotive verse.. I've spent a bit of time trying to find out to whom it is attributed but without success.
There are a few slightly different wordings of it but in essence they are very similar. It is commonly said that it isn't known who penned it. Does anyone know differently ?
I can feel a lump in my throat coming on as I prepare to post now !

There are no flowers on a sailors grave,
no lillies upon the ocean wave.
The only tribute is a seagull's sweep,
and the falling tear on a loved one's cheek.
