Re: Remembrance
God bless the fallen
Crammed on boats crossing the Channel ready for war,
Ready to land on the bleak Normandy shore.
Thousands of soldiers with fear in their eyes,
The sound of battle fills the skies.
The air is filled with the sound of shells overhead,
The battlefield is littered with the fallen dead.
Sorrow and fear is what they must feel,
The battles of war become so frighteningly real.
Making their way forward no turning back,
Ready for the enemies surprise attack.
Will they be able to win the battle with their foe,
As into the front line they fearlessly go.
Their sacrifice was for freedom for us all,
We will never forget those that did fall.
In memory of them, who we cannot resurrect,
God bless the fallen, lest we forget.

Re: Remembrance
Hi just reading through these thread I find very informative. As MN crew in the mid 70's I sailed on many of the old DC (current) ships of old. I had a fabulous time with many great experiences.
For you senior members I am in awe and would like to thank you for being there when needed.
Finally the MN is receiving the merits that's deserved
