Joseph desroches, ab
JOSEPH DESROCHES, AB
Joseph DesRoches had heard the call,
He signed aboard at Montreal.
VANCOUVER ISLAND sealed his fate,
In convoy SC-48.
A brave young man had left his home,
The North Atlantic his to roam.
No apple pie, his favorite dish,
Growing up in old Tignish
Proceeding west of Erin's shore,
VANCOUVER ISLAND was no more,
And Joseph's family mourned his loss,
The price so dear, so great the cost.
Then came that cold October day,
With VANCOUVER ISLAND under weigh.
Farewell to families, friends and life,
One hundred five had paid the price.
