    Default Australia Day January 26th.

    Australia " Author unknown".

To think of Australia my mind is open and free.
From my own piece of land to the eucalypt tree
A painters delight with our landscapes and colour
The animals of Australia are like no other
From the platypus, the wombat, the big red kangaroo
To the baby Koala clinging to mum up high
Our birdlife so brilliant so bright and aflame
Over sixty varied parrots, and the cockatoos become so tame
The kookaburra explodes with laughter even through the ashes.
The lyre bird a joker imitating anyone who passes.
Australia"s the only continent , also a country so ready to expand,
From the latin word "Australis" which means southern for our land,
Referred to as down under , it lies south of the equator.
surrounded by sandy beaches , glorified by God our maker.
Migrants arriving across the sea Aussies they soon will be.
From the hunger, the cold, and the despair of their homeland
to the land of many chances , their futures will expand.
What else do I think of what else do I see ?
Bananas in Queensland , sheep, cattle, and wheat
Our first Australian the Aboriginals and the first fleet
Australia"s my home how proud I am to be,
called an Aussie from Down Under,
there is no better place to be.

Enjoy, it may well be the last.

Here in Victoria no parade, the virus may come back if we do according to the premier.
But this is more to do with appeasing the minority who claim it as invasion day.

There is now a major push by all minority groups across the nation to do away with it.

The only saving grace, it is a national, not state holiday so it would need the feds to do away with it.

I had the literature on it John but have lost. If I remember correctly in actual fact it has nothing to do with invasion day but refers to January 26, 1948. When Australia received its own self determination of government. Up until that date all Australians held British nationality. The mob intelligence have created the fairy stories. British nationality included the Aboriginal community if they knew it or not. JS

Have done something I rarely do and look up on Google. They decline and refuse what I have stated re. What I remember of a post sent to me, so as usual you either have what you are told to believe by electronically transmitted bits from some 2 bit columnist of years passed . So as usual one believes really nothing , unless you have a reliable informant . Cheers JS.

John, Jan 26 is when they came ashore but some of the fleet arrived on the 19th but had to wait for all ships before venturing ashore.
But you are correct about 1948 and a wordly scholar spoke about that here in Melbourne last year.

Thanks John knew I hadn’t dreamt it. It is refused by google in their summing up of Australia Day. It is a more feasible reason just like the American Independance Day. Just shows once again when the media.make a statement they will go to the ends of the earth to protect it right or wrong , if it causes problems ,that’s news. Rabble Rousers would be a suitable pseudonym for them. JS

Keith you will get the same information as you have had in previous years Leopards don’t change their spots , that’s the story that was put out all those years ago, and that will be the official story to stick with , no matter how much trouble it causes by given a reason to those who like to protest. This is Australia and a bit different to other countries with well established histories , even though some of them are suspect. JS

John as you well know it is the minority groups who stir the crap about invasion day and how they were taken over.
An invasion normally means a war like situation where a gov of the day is taken over by others with force.
Certainly not the case here, but sadly for so many not living here the truth is what they chose to listen to.
Some of the stories told here as you know are nothing more than a Phurphy , and you and I know what that means.
