#39. John, in the 1940s there were 7 million people in this wide brown country, the same number as were resident in greater London at that time, as I recall. There are now more than three times that number. That which has been written and encouraged by the editors of 'The Bulletin' and other like publications is kept alive by small groups of enthusiasts who meet and usually over a few beers, share as those drovers used to do around their camp fires. Incidentally, my sister gave me a book recently, 'A Thousand Camp Fires'. Most of my life was spent beyond these shores but my home was here and as evidenced by my website, Aussies stick together wherever they are and not to the disadvantage of others. Cheers,

Who said Australian men weren’t romantic?!

    An Australian Love Poem.

Of course I love ya darlin
    You’re a bloody top-notch bird
And when I say you’re gorgeous
    I mean every single word

So ya bum is on the big side
    I don’t mind a bit of flab
It means that when I’m ready
    There’s somethin there to grab

So your belly isn’t flat no more
    I tell ya, I don’t care
So long as when I cuddle ya
I can get my arms round there

No Sheila who is your age
    Has nice round perky breasts
Yurs just gave in to gravity
But I know ya did ya best

I’m tellin’ ya the truth now
    I never tell ya lies
    I think its very sexy
That you’ve got dimples on ya thighs

I swear on me nanna’s grave now
    The moment that we met
I thought you was as good as
    I was ever gonna get

No matter what u look like
    I’ll always love ya dear
Now shut up while the footballs’ on
    And fetch another beer.

Richard #42 the same still applies now. Oz some 23 million, greater London about the same. But we do not have as many of a different color as there but about the same mix if nationalities.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

I love it John. Been away too long - had to play it twice! Anyone remember these Geordie mates in NY March 1947. Not the Aussie 2nd from the left. Can't remember their names after all these years.
