    and The South American Coast Run is now DEAD, Fineto. nothing, crabs Nada.
    No ships only in and out containers, no one goes ashore.Bars all closed, girls all gone, no business.
    Keep your dreams lads, that is all you have.
    I did a trip to all the South America ports in 2006, only Scandinavian Bar open in Valpo, Mary with the Wooden Leg has died.
    same on Atlantic coast in BA and Montevideo. all gone. No Sailors, We kept the local economy going.

    I took a good look around the dock area of Santos on Google Streetview a few weeks ago, not a seamans bar to be found, as you say Kong, very sad.

    We left the Skadi and Roland bars behind and headed back to Liverpool,Captain said when we get there you will not be paying off we will be going to London and The Continent then back to Liverpool this was in November after three months.Anyway in Liverpool two nights,i was in the Galley and the Catering boy said to me two stewards are not back plus some deckhands,George Scot was one of the Stewards,he lived in one of the FLOWER Streets off Stanley Road by Stanley Hospital,they were in a pub in Pansy street now called Prince of Wales.Time then 6-30 at night said the ships sailing at 8-30 would we go to the pub and tell them.Time ran out in the Liverpool Library only get one hour,tell you more on Saturday.Ken.

    Dis trip on Salinas, great run, lost an engineer on that trip, a Peter Much, fell in the crank pit head injury, left him in Valpo, also did a run down to Punta Arenas ( God forsaken place )

    Pizarro Part Four,any way both of us went the ale house to tell them to get back for the ship was sailing at 8oclock there was about 6 of the crew in the pub,they said have drink untill they are ready which we did,while we were finishing are pint bloke from the docks came in and said the ships not sailing untill 11oclock so that was the start for them stay longer.Tell you more next week if anybody his interested let me know,from Ken.

    Pizarro.Part Five.The Ale House closed at 10oclock,so George Scot got a crate of ale to take to his house to see his Mam and Dad around the corner Crocus Street,we had a couple each took about ten minutes.

    Pizarro,anyway made are way down to the Sandon dock about 6 or 8 of us having sing song got to the dock gate about 10-45pm,Policeman on the gate said what ship are you off we said the Pizarro he said it sailed over two hours ago,Tell you more next time

    Pizarro,Part six,anyway we all got a taxi to Lime Sreet Station,we only in t-shirts know coats with us,ther was a train round midnight to London,we all got platform tickets for we had all ran out of money,when we were getting in to London the ticket inspecter caught us.Tell you more next time.from Ken.

    Pizarro.Part Seven,we all gave are names and address to him and told him what happend,later we found out that the ship would not dock for a few days.We went to see the Salvation Army to see if they could help us,they said they could not to go back to where you drinking.

    The Salvation Army,i don,t hold gruge against them,allways give a donation to them,when i see them.Anyway we all sleep on park benches that cold night with news papers around us.

    One of the Stewards a London lad good lad said lets go down the docks to see if any P.S.N.C. SHIP his in and get some thing to eat for we were all staving,any way go on board one forgot the name seen the chief Steward told him the story,and he made sure we got a big meal.tell you more next time
