    Hi Barry
Your name is familiar, at a guess it must have been around the time Jack Cheetham or Geof Hoosen was 2nd Elect?

    Smile Garonne

Not a 'lecky', but i sailed as 2/0 on the tanker 'Garonne' in 68, just b4 taking Masters. Then in 74, was suprised, as a Pilot at Sidon, to have to berth her, when she sailed into port as the Greek 'St. Thomas'.
We didn't know what to expect, but i recognised her as soon as i saw the 'Top-hat' come over the horizon!
Quite a different experience, being the pilot, as opposed to being the guy at Stations on the poop.
