Not just the Catholic church John/

A remarkable resurgence of religious engagement is unfolding across England and Wales, with new data from the Bible Society revealing a 50% increase in overall church attendance over the past six years.

#10 John when I was young I was in the cubs and boys scouts I attended the Church of England , after the scouts for some reason I attended the Methodist Chapel and became a member of the Boys Brigade. The churches in my younger days put out a lot for the youth of that time, let’s hope they can repeat their past performances and supply a further interest in such movements for the building of their future characters and keep them away from sordid drug pedlars and such like. Cheers JS

When you see the state of the world today many young people will be worried, a bit like 1939, people flocked to church then as well, unfortunately no one up there listened, there was no help from above.

Cold old and drafty buildings and expensive to maintain and run. Many faiths now share the same building. Some have a church service on a Saturday and another faith have a service on a Sunday. Certainly not many Mosques closing , more opening every year. That is one of the reasons for the increase in Christian Church attendances

I believe quite a few cardinals were seen having expensive lunches with American millionaires around Rome during the period before the Conclave began, plus the Donald donated $14,000,000 towards Francis' funeral costs. Just makes you think out loud.
Used to be a catholic, went to a Jesuit school, but have become disillusioned with all the pomp and ceremonial hogwash in the Vatican. Actually I think Fr Ted says it all!!!!
Will ya have a cuppa tea farther?

My wife attends our local Anglican church, I have noticed she has a wad of pre printed envolopes for her donations, but the church has been pushing for direct deposit donations just in case you miss a Sunday gathering.....cheers.....

On TV last night they where concluding the Royal Commission into the Catholic Church in Newcastle,Nsw,
over pedophilia charges. The Bishop in charge gave in his notice, there where many who are still suffering from the sexual abuse carried on there when they where children, which also included senior police who where Catholics and helped protect the Church. That was not the same case where a Cardinal was jailed from assaulting small boys, later after pressure he was released. and went to Rome where he became the tresurer.
