#22 John oop's always thought you had a sense of humour. In my part of the world it is called banter. Sorry no offence intended.

Distance means nothing these days especially to a Hypersonic missile.

As I have no wish to enter into a dispute I will this time forgive you.
James , you missed one small spot, Alaska.
But it is not where Greenland is so much as to what could happen when it gains independence.
If not USA taking it over then what is to stop Russia, or China who I am informed already has interests there.
Greenland may well stay a member of NATO but they do not infuse a great deal of confidence should another country move in.
Their record is not one of the greatest.

John, I don't think Denmark or Greenland are opposed to the USA placing bases on Greenland. The thing that is annoying is Trump implied he would use military force if had to. Not really a great way to start off negations with other members of NATO.
Alaska, Tsar Alexander II sold it to the US for $7.2 million, bit of an own goal there by the Tsar.
Concerning China , it has business interests everywhere. If China pulled out off the UK for instance the UK economy would be in an even worse state. I see the UK Chancellor is in China just now. No doubt grovelling for a few crumbs, especially after Chinese business man Yang Tengbo was barred from entering the UK. Big mates with the disgraced Prince Andrew, and other leading politicos.

I like the attitudes posted about China, while all the time having to buy Chinese made goods, just had to buy a new washing machine , yep made in China, our Govt keeps attacking them, if they stopped buying our iron ore we would be bankrupt in a month. And lets face it look at the wonderful people running our countries in the West at the moment, wont need Chinese aggression it is already spread wide in the western half of the world.
