Rain here in thee UK

It is a problem in many countries.
Man in his infinite wisdom has interfered with natural run off areas, rivers and streams all of which have a natural use.
Stupid men have allowed houses to be built on what are natural flood planes, then blames all of this on climate change.
Nature has a way of doing what it does well but man continues to attempt to change it, at his peril!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here in Oz we are currently experiencing very heavy rain in parts of the nation.
Began in northern WA and has moved via NSW to Victoria.
But we have had a bit of an early dry spell, the evaporation has to go somewhere.

The problem is not the rainfall, it is the frequency and were it is falling. With warmer winters another problem is the snow melt happens earlier.

I'll say it again . Be very glad you're out of the EU. More than 560 dams and dykes have been removed by order from Brussels as part of this environmental improvement.
result is that most potato crop here has failed due to the ground being saturated .

In my experience warmer winters bring less snow so what is the problem??

Extremely hot weather in much of EU and other regions sees evaporation at very high levels.
When the clouds are soaked it must go somewhere, obviously Uk looks a good spot for it.

#14 warmer winters may mean less snow but it still snows up the mountains and thaws quicker as well.
Not a lot of evaporation takes place in the likes of southern europe were there has been a drought for the last couple of years.
Speaking to a friend of mine we used to live beside on the costa Blanca. They had the first rain fall last week, first time it has rained in 10 months. Big downpour, problem was the ground was baked that hard all it did was cause flash floods.

I know this is a silly statement I will regret later, but I wish it would warm up a bit, it was minus 3 last night and today it's not much warmer, will not be long before Spring s over, maybe we are in for a change, Winter and Summer only no Spring or Autumn.

Another probably silly statement Des , but no sillier than those put out by the extollers of climate change , as John in Oz said in one post some time ago that his friend a compass adjuster reported larger than usual change of position of magnetic North. If this is due to changes in the orbital path of the Earth would certainly explain any changes in weather. Our seasons and climate are due entirely to our distance and bearing from the Sun. The Sun is man’s God as early man and the monkeys believed. Cheers JS

According to one USA scientist who is a member of the 'Climate committee' there global warming is on the way down.
Temps in southern ocean are the lowest for over 20 years, indicating the planet is in a cooling stage.

That would all depend on the scientist as others say the oceans are warming up world wide. #14 as you said yourself increase in evaporation meand more rain. That evaporation is I assume is on the increase due to the increase in Ocean temperatures.
