Re: Riots in the UK
Hi John.
Things have changed, who would have believed that a Labour Govt would put the biggest union in Australia into receiver ship being run by a Govt appointee? Alabanese has just lost the next election, the Union is the biggest ever, over 40,000 building workers demonstrated all over Aus, I now there are a few thugs there, there always have been, but it would eventually have been sorted out. But not by the knitting circle now running the AcTU.

Re: Riots in the UK
Des as oft have said I am not a political creature, I vote for the man and not the party , there is nothing to choose between any of them. However I think the present incumbent was a bad choice in the first place, however we all learn by our mistakes. If you ask me why I would say lack of moral fibre and a bit short in the backbone area. Not too bright either.
However one man’s choice another man’s poison. Cheers JS.

Re: Riots in the UK
Yes Gino, sadly Melbourne is not the place it was when we came here.
It was going well until Desperate Dan Andrews got into power, a union lover who did all he could to placate them. They were his mates.
As a result of his folly, now continued by his replacement, his deputy before the going got rough and he jumped.
The state now owes more money than three other states combined.
The current lot will be gone at the next erection, but the debt remains.
An overcrowded city with a local council made up mainly of 'Greens".
Hopefully in time it may return to what it was, just needs a tough hand.
