That's the one John I thought it was the Beaver Bar, probably coz I was on the Beaver Pine. I remember the names all over everywhere.

Another bar I remember from those days was the ringo bar that was in a small square just off that strip, it was run by a woman who was some relation to ermars but rumours had it that she had been a nazi supporting woman during the war and had all her hair shorn off after the war.
Was bootsie aikman the captain on the beaverpine when you were on it?
I was 3rd mate on the beaverpine on her last voyage before layup in Liverpool prior to being converted to a container ship.
A night on the pizza in those bars in Antwerp always ended up with a bag of fries covered in mayonnaise along with a sausage from the all night stands around the cathedral square.

Hi your "two large print books" triggered a memory. I really enjoy reading Lee Childs, Jack Reacher books. Thought I'd read them all. Was going through list of his titles and l spotted one I'd not read entitled "One shot". Popped in to my local charity shop to drop off some odds and ends. Then checked out the novels. Couldn't believe my luck. "One shot" practically jumped off the shelf to me. I was reading it next day when my son popped in. He said, you finally got round to reading it then. I didn't know what he meant till he went to the book shelf and came back with the brand new copy he'd bought me a couple of years earlier. I'd forgotten he'd bought me that one. Felt a right plonker.
