A better idea would have been running parents with unruly kids courses in parenting skills.

A few guide lines like if you do not stop effing moaning about wanting a new phone etc!!! I will knock you into the middle of next week,gems like that.

I posted on site about some Army parachute packers in Sydney who where caught taking drugs, to late for the poor sod who did a training jump two weeks ago, his chute didn't open.

As a young member of all the cadet forces , Army, Navy and ATC , ( air training corps. ) the longest in any of them was the ATC. Think it was Wolsington or something very similar was one of our more frequent visitations and a visit to the parachute packing was always entailed. They were mostly women members of the RAF in those days. The old tiger moths were part of the training , and the Link trainers the cockpit replicas that never left the ground , remember my mate managed to break one and they were state of the art at the time, so he got grounded you could say. As said in a previous post regards our soldiering duties we were issued with the WW1 US infantry rifle the PF 17 rifle .300 mm. And not .303. Fitted with a grenade launcher. Kids today don’t know what they are missing. JS.
PS for my 70 th birthday I was bought a flight in a tiger moth flying over Fremantle and surrounds with an instructor of course. With a top air speed of 80 mph if I had been 10 years younger I would have gone for a licence. JS.

The answer to young kids being a problem can be solved as it was in one case in USA.
The parents were charged an convicted as accessories to the fact.

Maybe if parents were so charged when the kids knife some one or steal a car then maybe we may regain some control of them.
But there are som eparents who do not care what the kids do as long as they can do what they wish.

I don't want to rub the lamp but my daughter informed us yesterday that Cooma is the safest town from crime in Aus. Mind you anyone robbing a bank has a long way to go before getting clear, we are around a Hundred Ks from anywhere big enough to hide in.

But one still has to question the actions, or lack there of, when it comes to raising children to be responsible adults.

We had a case here today, a lady and her husband went to a 'gig' with a five month old baby.

Thye were told no entry on two grounds, the premise is lichened so no one under 18 allowed in, and they have a duty of care to all in there.

The lady is creating merry hell on the radio saying she was discriminated against, most callers said she was wrong but the number who agreed with her is a bit of a worry.

On looking back I thought Natonal Sevice was a good exerience for youg guys, not that I intended to do it. I knew from the age 13, a member of the 1st Tyne Sea Scout Troop that I was going to be a sailor. Royal Navy at first until I found out I'd be financially better off in the Merchant service.
Mind you, National Service might not be good in some cases, had a mate who was called up, was posted to Korea in 1952 and is still there

If we look back even simple examples of some form of disciplinary training came with groups such as the Boy Scouts/Girl Guides.
We all need at time some form of such training if we are to become responsible citizens.

Just take a look at some of the events of late, knife attacks a car jacking all by youths of under 16 and in a number of instances as young as 13.
Training is definitely required for such persons, and their parents made top pay for it as an example of how they have failed society in the way they have raised their kids.
