Re: Death of Innocence.
John S
The same was said about the University demonstrations over the war in Vietnam, I think only one man was convicted of war crimes, an officer who wiped out a village with no fighters in it, he was let out I think after three years. such is life.

Re: Death of Innocence.
The Palestine problem with HAMAS is the fact they are the gov of the day.
Voted in by the populous, but did they at the time of voting all know just what HAMAS was all about.
It has been said you get the gov you deserve, but we all know from experience the gov you vote in is often nothing what they claim when electioneering.
Polis of all persuasions will say anything to gain power, and no doubt this was the HAMAS approach.
But the establishment of Israel where it is has become a problem waiting to happen, now maybe it has.
AS to Ukraine, Macron the Frog said if the EU do not stand firm against Putin then there is nothing to stop him advancing on other countries that border Russia.

Re: Death of Innocence.
Hi John.
There has been correspondence on site saying that the Palestinian's deserve what they are getting as they voted for the Govt. On TV there was the British foreign Minister David Cameron in the Ukraine talking about supplying the Ukraine with the top British missiles that could reach right into Russia, Putin said if that happens its on for young and old, they would have to retaliate, did the British people vote in a Govt that said they would go to war with Russia, No, it's done by stealth.

Re: Death of Innocence.
Des, I doubt there is any gov anywhere capable of telling the truth.
They will say anything that will get them votes, power is all they crave.
Yet the same polis will scream when something such as the current situation occurs and will help the underdog.
Why, because they believe there are votes in it for them.
In this case most of the marches support Palestine, so help them and gain votes.

Re: Death of Innocence.
Hamas hid behind Palestinians who were waiting at crossing into Gaza. Isreal had organised a food convoy.
Hamas hid behind those wing onaid and fired Rockets and guns at Isreal troops.

Re: Death of Innocence.
Hi Vic.
Trouble is it's the Palestinian women and kids who are suffering for it.

Re: Death of Innocence.
It appears that no matter what peace deal may come up Israel will still go into Rafa and destroy it.
Telling the people living there to move out is a bit rich as they were first told by Israel to move there.
If I did not know better I would say it is a plan to kill as many Palestinians as possible, then take total control of Gaza for Israel to move into.

Re: Death of Innocence.
The US has made clear it's views on attacking Rafah "as it could potentially put more than a million innocent people at greater risk" is that why they did not bomb the Germans or Japanese in WW2?
In Oxford, activists targeted the Pitt Rivers Museum, declaring the grounds a"liberated zone"
If I was a magistrate I would send them to a "secure zone"

Re: Death of Innocence.
How about this for a strange idea? Let each and every government charter a liner to transport protesters to Rafah and form a human baracade to defend the civilians. I think that even notayahoo would take them on and it would give the protesters something solid to do. If that did not work then less protesters in the world. Basically it is a put up or shut up.

Re: Death of Innocence.
There are some sounds today that are promising.
But the media are not sure who will do the best out of any deal.
But no matter I am convinced Israel will do whet ever it wants no matter public opinion.
