Re: Death of Innocence.
In the Un 197 members nations have voted to recognize a Palestine state.
The USA abstained, Israel said no!!
This raises the question of where does Palestine go now.
Globally today demonstrations in favor of Palestine took place, there is now an anti sematic feeling across the globe from the general population, though this may not be the understanding of the various nations.
Oil prices dropped today suggesting there may be sone form of interim peace, but for how long.
The people of Gaza were told to go south when the war began, recently they attempt to move back there as the main center of battle is now in the south.
They were attacked by Israel forces and made to go back south into the war one!!!!!
One wonders what is next for them??

Re: Death of Innocence.
Post 40, you ask why the war was started.
My belief is that the Russians lent on the Mullahs of Iran to to get there Hamas Rebels to attack Israel.
Far fetched? Think on it, Russia at the time were struggling against Ukraine. Would the West continue to back Ukraine as well as support Israel.
The old divide and conquer rule.
Its interesting to note, during the aerial bombardment Jordan shot down some of the missiles and Saudi is supplying Israel with intelligence reports, something that would have been unheard of years ago.

Re: Death of Innocence.
What a lot of the general public are seeing today by the random attacks by individuals are a culmination of what was started during the life of this site, and many on here showed their disapproval at the time especially in Europe and that was the dropping of border control, the most stupidest in my opinion, that a politician could make. It may appear to be kind and friendly but shows the complete lack of knowledge in a lot of cases by people who have that power to change the laws of mankind that has worked and preceded these stupid people for milleniums . If there is such a thing as a legal war then the word civilian is debatable and innocent also.? They are still part of the enemy working against them and supporting their terrorist masters, be it in making the munitions to kill the enemy or in the local cafe to feed their own terrorists , where is the dividing line ? Those who want to believe otherwise go ahead and believe what one wants to believe , I believe at the present moment in time the state of the world is shocking to have got to the state it is, and to me the ground for such was pure bad managership and poor leadership of the past and in most of our lifetimes. Re: Death of Innocence.
The major problem is indeed world leaders.
While most belong to UN and say they are world believers the fact is most are only there for themselves.
When push comes to shove, such as the current situations in Ukraine and Gaza, they say a lot but do little.
The world leaders of the WW2 era and just after must be turning in their graves when they see the current situation.
Until they ahve the balls to stand up as a united group for all mankind they we are well and truly rooted.

Re: Death of Innocence.
#45.. Most of them would never had made Sixers in the Wolf Cubs John, so maybe they grew up feeling deprived and betrayed and tried to be more outspoken in later life but lacked the words to do so, not being very articulate , so got others to do it for them by force of arms. How many do you think hold up Ghengis Khan as a role model ? JS

Re: Death of Innocence.
Hi Rod
What does the average American think about Biden supporting Israel despite the killing of so many women and children? I don't mean Hamas, that speaks for itself. On our TV they say that so many children are killed and the next thing is Biden totters on saying we are Iron Clad behind Israel, does he mean that he doesn't care about Israeli troops firing on or bombing houses and killing civilians?

Re: Death of Innocence.
In the news today, Israel soldiers saying they did not do enough to protect the people back in October.
In the West Bank there is a very small corner of about 8 square kilometers when some Bedouin live.
Thye continue to live as they have for thousands of years.
But now under threat from Israel who want the land to build some 1300 houses.
According to one of them, 'if that happens then there will never ever be a state of Palestine'
A sad reflection of what the Israel gov is all about.

All the polls are basically the same plus or minus a few fractions of a percentage, I chose the CBS poll as it was middle of the pack, and a respected poll.
In Oct.23 Biden's favorability was 44%, in the latest poll of April it was 33%.
The polls are split almost even between current registered voters, 50.3% Biden, 49.7% Trump.
A big concern is a lot of registered voters are currently planning on sitting this election out, pissed at both candidates.
I too am disgruntled; I feel like my choices are would I rather have pneumonia or Syphilis. Naturally I choose pneumonia (Biden).
Something for y'all to chew on. There is nothing in our Constitution that prevents a felon sitting in jail from running for President and be elected. One candidate did run for president while behind bars in 1920. Eugene E. Debs of the Socialist Party and garnered over a million votes. I doubt that Trump would want to place himself alongside a communist or behind bars. He was a Socialist who became a communist while in Jail. He was not convicted or imprisoned for being a communist.
Though Trump is now undergoing a criminal trial by jury, he has 94 other charges for various offences, However. most do not carry prison time. and legal scholars say they doubt he would do prison time as he is a first-time offender, so it would be most likely be probation.
