Re: Death of Innocence.
Switzerland has said that if he agrees to come there for talks he will not be arrested even though there is a warrant out for him.
Does not mention anything about him not being whacked though?
If he moves for a cease fire after all this he may well be invited to sit in a chair in a cold cellar and a bit of explaining may well be required. Even then I reckon he will be disappeared.

Re: Death of Innocence.
John.
The whole war in the Ukraine is about Nato, when Ukraine separated from Russia they signed an agreement never to join NATO as it would put thee US led army,s who have always wanted to smash Russia since the second world war right on their border, no problems until the man who thinks he is the maodern Che Guevara [Notice the way he dresses down} took office and tore the agreement up, that was why Putin helped the people of Donsesk and the other regions of mostly Russian people to leave the Ukraine.

Re: Death of Innocence.
Although I don’t agree with what Putin did and is still doing, I would agree that he sees himself as a good Patriot of Russia and its people. He has a bigoted view of the large percentage of the world who do not agree with his methods of getting his own way , which are not through the ballot box, that is a farce in his country. But no one could deny him being a patriot. There will be Russians living in the Ukraine who believe in his doctrine. He is not old enough to remember the war but must have been well brainwashed from the Stalin era. JS.

Re: Death of Innocence.
In St Petersburg a few years back we found the locals to be friendly, every shop we entered had Vodka and glasses for any one who wished to drink.
Puti was very popular then, the feeling was he could make himself President for life.
But time s change, I wonder if the same feeling still exists?
On the other war front, Gaza, the Israel army command has been stood down by Notayahoo, but he is still in charge and any thing could still happen.
Unless he now feels too many are against him, demonstration's calling for elections!!!!!

Re: Death of Innocence.
Israel claimed responsibility for the killings, and its military launched an investigation into the incident, which led to the dismissal of two officers
Are those officers also Casualities of war?? one would assume their military careers are toast?

Re: Death of Innocence.
As can be seen i have neither Thanked nor Liked any of this Threads Posts, not because its anything i think containing Political issues, just to stay off this and keep watchful.
As i read these replies and from the Start i feel it has thus far been a very interesting Thread, and so Lads lets just keep it going that way.
Quote Douglas PS - I will try very hard not to politicise posts to acknowledge BP's request to avoid doing so,
however, should they be confrontational, I will, regardless, respond in like manner.
If there is any confrontation Douglas, be assured that i will delete any such posts!
This will keep the Thread in place and the calm going as it is!
This will include anyone , i stress anyone !
But for now Lads Thank You! ALL.

Re: Death of Innocence.
We see TV images of what is going on, pictures of damaged areas.
But are they new or just a rerun of old ones, media will do anything to sell copy and I for one have very little trust in them.
Pictures of little kids in a bad way, then next ad break and there is a heart tugging message from ;Save the children".
I am sure the conditions there are chaotic and unfit for civilized persons to live,
WE see various stories of what the media say is going on, all very dramatic, but how much is true?

Re: Death of Innocence.
#295 John, I think the media are savvy enough not to stitch up vidio footage. Yes some may well be recycled but with social media and even in Gaza mobile phones what we are seeing is what has and is going on.
Sooner the slaughter stops the better for all concerned
Those involved will pay a heavy price. It does not matter what kind of security one puts around ones self , a terrorist only needs to get lucky once.

Re: Death of Innocence.
We get some live footage at times and yes the situation there is horrific.
When, and if, this slaughter ends how will Gaza be rebuilt?
Now HESBOLA is making noises and threats to Israel saying they should stay at least 20klm from their border.
Things could go very pear shaped in short time, a much bigger conflict can emerge from this.
