    Default Mersey Tidal Array

Plans are being developed for a tidal array on the Mersey.
The development would the capability to develop electrical energy for 1m homes.
There would also be cycle track running from one side of the Mersey to the other.

Looked this up, seems feasible but peep power, part of peel ports, plan is to put the barrage between Dingle and new ferry which would cut off garston and the ship canal from the sea unless they incorporate some sort of passage for ships bound for eastham, Tranmere, Birkenhead .

There is a fortune being spent on cycle lanes / paths / separation schemes round here also; I just wonder when it will dawn on the authorities that there are not actually very many cyclists round here using them for routine commuting etc. I am not anti cycling but it strikes me that a huge slice of the cake is being spent on something with minority usage, when the access road to my house has been patched so many times it looks like a patchwork quilt, as well as the quality of repairs is so poor it is like driving on cobblestones.

They've been talking about building one down here on the Thames for donkeys years, but I haven't heard of one yet.

#4. Never mind Tony they maybe of use to us of advancing age for our electric Gophers. The only thing that stops me going further afield is lack of footpath and cyclepaths here in WA. To go on the road apart from being illegal would be like playing Russian Roulette . Cheers JS.

    Bloody bike lanes.
Here in Melbourne the lord mayor thinks we can become another Amsterdam and all ride bikes.
Half the traffic lanes are gone to make room for the bikes, but you rarely see anyone on them.
She thinks it is a great way to bring people into the city to shop.
You try carrying four bags of shopping on a push bike!!!!

    John.
I can just see you with your feet up and your wife doing the peddling. What you need is one of those little Irish traps with a pony.

Might get tempted to dress the wife up like Lady Godiva and lead her on the pony Des , and just drive in front on the gopher leading the way. JS
Just like Self titled General de Gaulle was allowed to do with his few hundred free French troops to precede in the liberation of Paris for the record books. When all was said to be safe as it was ever going to be. JS
