Re: Alibama
Twenty years ago a woman in Sydney was jailed for the murder of her four babies, not all at one , not long after they were born. Experts said they all died of cot deaths, others said impossible for the four to have done that, the judge sentenced her to life. A couple of months ago experts found that it could have happened; as she had something medical that could have done it, she was released from prison after twenty years inside. Now for the big payment, if not guilty she should get a fortune, but it wont make up for her time lost. Crime is a funny thing sometimes, but where someone is found without doubt to have killed someone they should either be put to death, or sentenced to jail until that person comes back to life.

Re: Alibama
Cured, like bacon maybe.
Watched a movie the other night about the English guy who discovered DNA and how it was used to clear one man of suspected murder but got the gut who did do it.
Such forensic evidence cannot be ignored.
The two who murdered the squaddie in Woolwich should have been given the long drop, why keep them alive.
The one in USA gassed, nothing new when you consider the gas chamber they used at one time there.
But to keep them alive in prison for 20 years and then top them is a bit extreme, must cost millions, why wait so long just do it.

Re: Alibama
The most used term these days when social workers & law enforcement -uck up and they know they have, is lessons will be learnt. Sad thing is they never are.
Police here are in the Merde again. Norfolk police failed to answer a 999 call were 4 four people were later found dead. It took a second call for them to respond at 7.15 am. Now maybe I am wrong but what time do the shifts change 6 am ?
Another tragic case.
Family and neighbours of Alfie Steele from Droitwich, Worcestershire, made more than 60 calls about his welfare in the period leading up to his murder in February 2021, including a call saying it sounded as if he was “being hit and held under the water”.
The boy died after his head was repeatedly held underwater in a bath, after months of cruelty that had left him with more than 50 injuries, a trial at Coventry crown court heard last year.
It found that the professionals who worked with Alfie were hard-working, showed care and commitment to him and the family but were “often hampered by two adults who sought to deliberately lie, mislead and cover up what was happening”.
The report noted that family members and neighbours took “great risks” to help protect Alfie and that more should have been done when they were threatened by Howell, who had a history of “violence and criminality”.
Hard working!!!! um!! cover up.

Re: Alibama
Hard working seems to be phrase that pops up a lot from the various failing organisations from police, prison officers ,social workers NHS Doctors ,Nurses etc
The various political parties use the same phrase when trying to Butter up potential voters.
It’s Much over used . I would prefer the terms Dedicated and Honest to be the phrase of choice , as if this was the case,Hard working would be a given and it would not really be necessary to add to description of an area of service.

Re: Alibama
Lessons will be learned, yes but not from this case I suspect is how I see it.
Then no matter how much of a barsteward he was it is always the same,
'Such a lovely guy, every one loved him'
Well yes apart from the one who did him in.
Funny thing, you never hear of any nasty ones being done.
