    Default Correct or not

A very interesting article today on the net about BREXIT.
It appear there is a shift in mood as to was this good for UK?

The strong support for it still exists with the over 55 brigade, but the younger ones are still in favor of rejoining.
Mainly one suspects as it would give them easier access to EU countries, not for the benefit of UK.

But the question has been raised, is the UK still a force in global politics and economies?

The surface aspect appears to be yes, but how do the people at the coal face really feel about it all?

As with any survey the result can come from the manner and style of the questions.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

The UK will be back in the EU inn some shape or form within the next 5 years.

The term now is not Brexit, it is now Bregret.
With public opinion having turned against Brexit, a new YouGov survey finds that most Britons would now vote to Remain were the EU referendum being held again, and likewise would vote to rejoin the EU if such a vote were being called.

A majority of Britons (55%) say that, were the EU referendum taking place now, seven years after the original date, they would vote to Remain. Three in ten 31% say they would vote to Leave. This gives a headline voting intention of 64% to 36%.

With a divided opinion in a country comes a weakened country , and those who didn’t agree with it in the first place are going to continue weakening the resolve of the nation by overturning the will of the majority. They used to call them poor losers , I still do. JS

JS, name a country that is not divided?

Concerning Brexit the mob in power at the time lied about the benefits of leaving the EU.

A lot of those who voted leave have since changed their minds as they have eventually faced up to the fact they had been lied to and the promised benefits are not going to appear.
Also a lot of those who voted leave are no longer on the electoral roll.

It depends on which polls you use, 40% to rejoin, 40% to retain status quo. These were thr figures December 2023.
The UK is actually doing quite well with various trade deals signed, trade deals that we could not have signed if we're still in the EU.
Even the EU is softening it's stance, Germany forced a rethink on car tariffs which would have become law this month. The car tariffs have been kicked into the long grass.
Of course there are those that no matter how the country is doing, will belittle stating that we would better off in the EU.

#4 As far as I’m concerned the uk should never have entertained the idea of joining foreign powers. And am not going to try and justify any reasons why with those so bent on destroying what other people fought for. I don’t have any voting rights in any case unless I returned to uk and that is not going to happen . So what happens in the UK only concerns me if it brings my remaining family living there into hardship. Anyhow are you a fully paid up member of the British Society of good standing ? JS

    https://yougov.co.uk/politics/articl...vote-rejoin-eu.

Well as you say all depends what internet site one uses. The above is my source, perhaps they are wrong?

Better in as perhaps we can get more coperation concerning illegals entering the UK.
Also as the world seems to be heading for another major conflict better stronger together, I would not be relying on Unlce Sam to come and rescue us again. We keep poking the bear we may well pay a heavy price for that.

#5 It would be interesting to see what names were on those polls as well Vic and how many were fictitious. As said yesterday hands up those who believe in the media outlet, now take that hand and slap yourself. JS

Well John there is the rub , Brexit has brought hardship to a lot of UK citizens. Especially the younger generation, education being one, loss of the Erasmus scheme.
As usual the public were lied to again about Erasmus

From my perspective and what I remember of the original Piano player deal was the loss of national being, the EU rules would take over.
Loss of local cultures was one complaint, and thew ability to deal on trade terms with other nations.

But how the Uk goes will depend on your erection later this year.
From what I read the labor leader is not an EU fan.

But of course as with any socialistic leader that could well change.
