I have never been constipated in my life, that is until recently. I was at the docs this week for a hearing issue and mentioned to him I was having a lot of flatulence. It was becoming embarassing. He asked me had I changed my diet? not really just stopped drinking Alcohol. There is your answer then try drinking again, so well took his advice and back to normal. Always remember my father inlaw if you drink beer you will never be constipated.

I wonder how that works then, when I was at college two "gentlemen" used to deliberately drink guinness and eat pickled eggs on Sunday nights so that their flatulence the following morning was in first class working order , ensuring a clear area around them in the classroom.

I read the other day that there is an increase in tongue Cancer.
Doctors say it could be caused by too much alcohol as smoking levels have dropped.

But there could be other reasons, I recall many of us learned to breath through our ears at certain times.

DO NOT IGNORE YOUR BOWELS! IT CAN BE A LIFE-SAVER.

Ten years ago I noticed that my regular bowel habits had changed slightly together with occasional abdominal twinges.

    Straight to my GP.

A few days later to the hospital where a camera was shoved up where the sun never shines.

    CANCER!

A week later- massive surgery making me a member of the SEMI-COLON ; CLUB!

Followed later by seven months of just in case chemotherapy.

None of the above was much fun, to put it mildly - but I am now totally clear of CANCER with no ill effects.

I can still fart for Wales!

A close friend ignored all the symptoms until his bowel burst - which he did not survive.

I now preach bowel awareness quite openly - any change in habits plus inspect your droppings and wipings.

    IT CAN SAVE YOUR LIFE!

I know I can be an arsehole but at least I still have one!

Had regular colonoscopies for a number of years beginning in 1999, and about every 3 years since.
Had polyps burned off and the last colonoscopy during my last stay in hospital showed my bowel clear and no more colonoscopies required.
