I see it started in aa diesel car John, but when spread to other cars, bound to be some Electric, and they go like the clappers.

Many a fire strated at sea by a fractured diesel line/ fuel line. So not an EV. I would have bet a couple of quid on that one for sure.

We have had three car park fires in Sydney all apparently started by electric cars, I think about six or seven cars destroyed.
So the warning is don't park near an electric car. Maybe they should have some kind of disability sticker on them.

Then to add to the insult I hear the insurance on such vehicle scan be twice as much as for a conventional one.

Costings done here on an EV..

Range of about 350klm.
Cost to recharge is about $35 to $40
Then gov cost of 2.8 cents per klm.

Trying to find a charging point here can be frustrating, then trying to find one that works can be even more frustrating.
A lot of deals going round now for 0% finance on new EV's why !!! because people are who buy them are taking them back to the dealers. A friend of mine bought a Corsa 6 months ago , it goes back next week for a petrol Corsa.

Speaking with a taxi driver in London who has an EV taxi.
Goes back to some depot to recharge which can take up to an hour.
An hour he cannot make money on and as he said the price for the power is little better than the price for diesel.
Then he at times has to make judgement on picking up a passenger, will he have enough battery left to get them there and him back to the depot for a recharge.

I do not know what the cost of taxis is in London John , but if it is like everything else in London it will not be cheap.
I suppose having an EV taxi in London one would avoid the ULEZ charges??
Are a lot of London Taxis not running on LPG? at least it is a cleaner burn and should reduce emissions compared to a Diesel taxi

I wouldn't worry about vans, taxi's or even fatcats riding around London and paying the ULEZ or other charges, because they all claim it back from the taxman. So, in short, if you pay taxes in the UK, you pay the charges for them.
