    Keith, Now there's a surprise!

I do not know enough about,or understand the Dublin agreement concerning returning illegal immigrants but did we not opt out of the Dublin agreement after the transistion period after Brexit?

The problem of migrants, legal or otherwise will continue.
No gov has yet found a way to contend with it across the EU region

One MP has suggested that the rules be rewritten, maybe the way to go.

Here in Oz we have the advantage of distance from much of the world and the ability to turn around any boats that attempt to come.

Maybe the countries in EU should stop all assistance to these people.
If the money dries up they may think twice about coming.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

#23 The rules already have been blatantly and still are being totally disregarded John. The group which made these Rules basically the first country that the so called absconded survivors from Tyranny, was supposed to take him/her or it.
They didn’t have the backbone or the inclination to enforce the Rules that they had so mistakenly made to receive hopefully pats on the back. They should have received kicks up the backside instead. JS

    John, I agree.
In about 1951 or so the UN passed a bill saying that
'Any person seeking refuge or asylum should do so in the first safe country they come to'

Obviously the illegals and people smugglers do not read such material.

#25 Think I have posted before, but I was mate on a ship in the 1970s and we picked up a stowaway in Africa and we were bound for Australia . The Australian immigration would not even let him off the ship , he was the ships responsibility to get him back to his point of departure. So the ship had to pay for his airfare and armed guard to the airport to catch one of his own National airlines back to his land of paradise and nasty creatures . Today what does one see , slightly different ideas . Who”s kidding who. There is definitely a lack of moral fibre somewhere along this pipeline of weak individuals , nearly time for another clean out and purge the line once again. The tanker hands on board should know how to do that , what was it called again ? Something like putting a monkey or something through the line which was a shot of water. JS

We did indeed leave the Dublin agreement when we left the EU. The point i was making is that when we were in the EU we were not in Schengen, and were still unable to return illegals to France Now at the present time, the French have temporarily left Schengen, and this is enabling them to return illegals back to Italy, typical double standards of the EU. The EU consists of Germany and France, no one else matters.

What we have to remember, is that these immigrants are wanted here in the UK. Not by us plebs, but by the fatcats. They represent cheap labour for the future. You can guarantee that sometime in the future, they will be allowed to stay and work, many of them are already.

Legitimate migrants are usually welcomed I believe Johnny. What I find incredulous is that no country appears capable of capturing the scum masterminds providing the dinghies etc to the illegal ones. WHY????

IMHO the UK should stop trying to appease the Human Right Brigade and cut the benefits provided which is glaringly obvious as just one of many huge attractions to enter here. [France supply a tent for gawds sake to our hotel rooms!!] The RNLI ferry facility provided is a disgraceful abuse of their volunteers and the donations collected. The other main problem being though is that no Prime Minister yet since Brexit has had the fortitude [and I'm being polite here!] to dismiss the EU and tell them where to stick the ECHR. Certain Government Ministers in all parties and especially the EU, Court Judges and all have thwarted our every attempt to rid ourselves of the men without documentation to enter. The Government Ministers - our MP's here - most not fit for purpose - quite simply cannot be allowed to continue to squander the British taxpayers monetary input on this farce or their wages a moment longer, that of course is regardless of whatever Party wins in the next Election. Worse though if flipflop himself or the numpties up here gain numbers as they welcome all in sundry to our shores regardless of the alarming violent crime numbers and rising.
