Lot of sour grapes in the Aussie media today saying that the Lionesses were too aggressive, what were they supposed to be?
were they supposed to roll over and say 'here you are Matilda, it's your ground your entitled to win this one' Don't think football of any genre is a 'you go first' sport. Keep up the aggression girls, let the others do the whinging.

Yes, have seen the whinging in the Oz press, cannot believe they are complaining about *fair* play, which beggars belief . They were completely out played by the better team.

Well perhaps the very vocal Australian partisan crowd who booed the Lionesses even during the warmup sent the England girls a message. Score first and silence the crowd. Job done.

The 'Poms; are known as wingers, but the winging from the Oz crowd was shameful.
We consider ourselves here to be top sports people and such winging goes against the that.
The Matildas realized they were the under dog and even though they were tearful at the end they are good enough sports to accept that.
Many of the fans also accepted that, but then there are those as in any nation who will winge.

I do hope the Englis girls win onSunday.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Mine wasn't a winge, it was about the change in what has been a great Women's Soccer success, I hope the English girls win the comp, but still think that the Aussie girls had a good comp considering the huge rugby, and what I call Ariel ping pong teams they had to compete with for support.

Des, female soccer has come along way over the years.
Reading a bit today about the games in UK and Eu regions and how many Oz\girls are playing there.
Could reach the state where they will be as popular as the men in all soccer competitions.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Most definately not the Ausie way, and its a shame the this was so. Normally the Aussies would take things with just a sigh perhaps , but always say Good on Ya!!
Me thinks that nowdays there are too many other ethnics in the Aussie Camp, and are not really true Blue!
    Cheers

Go the Lionesses ! But they have a hard game on their hands with the Spaniards !Again i just say let the best Team Win!

Just hope that the Matildas can at least finish on i high with a Bronz!
