#10, please advise us what you are giving up or curtailing in order to save the planet. Please advise flight numbers to Beijing and Bombay so that we can follow your efforts in persuading the aforementioned Govts of Bombay and Beijing to curtail their CO2 emissions, and don't forget to remind them that the UK's contribution is 0.0001% of the world's contribution and that they should follow our example. Also don't forget to mention that the planet will do what the planet wants to do regardless of man's efforts, or lack of them. Please be careful when stepping off your soapbox as when you're older your bones become more brittle

Water thermometer wouldn't be much use in freezing weather. (Mercury has been found in the pyramids of Egypt and also the Mayans in Mexico)

#11, Hi John, Have to refer to my mistake in post numbers this morning. My #12. was in response to the preacher man in #10 who deems that some of us are incapable of judging for ourselves any personal thoughts on climate change. Our views differ yet we still get lectured on his copy and paste sources!

According to estimates, about 10 million species have lived on the Earth and humans have only found evidence of about 1 million of them. It is also estimated that about 99.9% of all species that have lived on planet Earth are now extinct. I accept that the human animal is guilty of forcing some of the changes to our planets evolutionary progression. Why is that you may ask. Well, several factors are each playing there part. Number one is over population of a species. Until the human animal comes to realise that we are like a cancer eating into the earths resources and that proliferation cannot continue at its rate of progression, we will just become another number added to the extinction statistics. Not that there will be another species capable of collecting that information. We have to find a solution to procreation. China tried it but were ostracised by its own citizens followed by outcry from the rest of the world or it will certainly, if not controlled, result in our demise. Number two is what should have been the 11th commandment 'Greed". Each and every one of us is guilty of it. We all want as much as we can get for as little as we can get it for. Our materialistic demands to own the latest or the trendiest drives the blight on our planet. Our search for products produced cheaper leads to the search for countries with plentiful cheap labour to manufacture or grow them which in turn then increases that countries demand to join the materialistic society, so the search begins again. an ever increasing demand on resources. Not a very optimistic outlook is it? If the human animal is to survive then our lifestyle has to dramatically change or the only ones with a chance are the ever decreasing numbers of native species still reliant on a prehistoric existence.

#18 Remember the Chinese being ostracised for practising their form of Birth Control , making bare the fact they were well aware of the circumstances and remedy’s necessary, the Chinese are unlike Western Politicians they are not afraid to practice what they preach. JS

This winter is the coldest I have experienced since I arrived in Cooma fourteen years ago, but with no snow.must be something in it,. When whites first came to the Cooma area the snow was around five feet deep in the winters, don't know what one can get from that vis a vis climate change.
