Proof reading
This was on the net this morning.
Posted by GB news
One of Pakistan’s richest men and his teenage son are among the people on the missing subversive that set off to view the wreck of the Titanic.
Shahzada Dawood, 48, and his son Sulaiman, 19, were aboard the underwater vessel which lost all communication at 12,500ft underwater.
I know many of us have the odd slip in grammar and spelling but this is a professional organisation.
I wonder has the article been written by AI ? A lot who work for that news station/outlet do have Artificial intelligence
My own grammar and spelling leave a lot to be desired.
But how important is spelling these days I recently filled in a HMG form relating to a medical condition. On reading the notes it said do not worry about spelling.

Re: Proof reading
We have a quiz show on TV here; and many of the younger people when asked what they are doing, say, Media Studies, then when asked haven't a clue to a simple question. I am no brilliant speller or pretend to know many of the answers, but jeez I left school at 14 as dumb as , but even I can beat these people.

Re: Proof reading
Unfortunately the young are taught by people who know nothing as they were likely taught by people who knew nothing as the trend was to leave University to go straight into teaching without experiencing the real working world, although some teachers, if not most, think they are worldly wise

Re: Proof reading
I have said it for years the idea of education in the UK seems to have been to uneducate enquiring minds. My wife is a teachers assistant or was. She took a qualification course TEFL 6 months corrospondence course completed it in 3 months and got her Certificate with honours.
She used to help out in the local school helping new arrivals from foriegn lands along with Adults.
The teacher she was helping could not spell and her grammar was as good as mine. Anyway my wife being suttle asked the teacher if she would like to join in the class . I think Karen said the problem arose when she gave the teacher some home work for the next weeks class, thick as f!!!! she says .

Re: Proof reading
Judging by the number of polis and other senior personnel attend some of the LGBTIQ parades it may well be a case of POOf reading.
