Tina Turner was the best. The best voice, the best of showgirls, rocked, whirled, and ran while singing. You got your monies worth attending her shows, and the best legs in showbiz. a true feast for the eyes and the ears. Rock on Tina.

    Love and respect, Rodney

Saw her live at Gateshead stadium in the early 90's on her tiny dancer tour, absolutely fantastic show with the backing singers and dancers, the energy she had put many a professional sports person to shame.
As a little aside, on many of her tours, her musical arranger's was a guy called John miles, who lived just round the corner to us in our first house in east boldon.

One of the most vibrant singers and dancers of our era, I wished I had her energy, and all without a hint of the drugs so many of them
were on. She can rest now knowing She was the Best.

Seem to remember she had a violent husband at one time or am I thinking of someone else. These wife beaters pure cowards , must give them a sexual kick, maybe that’s how they get their jollies ? JS

Correct, her husband Ike was a a woman beater.
She stayed with him for 17 years, kicked him into touch and became a role model for women with violent men.
Married a Dr later and when she retired from the stage in 2004, aged 69, moved to Switzerland.
Suffered Liver Cancer and had a mild stroke which in the end became too much for her.

Her memory will live on as long as her songs and videos are played.
