Re: Just stop Oil
Here in Victoria we have the largest gas deposits in the country.
But our Socialistic ideological premier will not allow them to be used, climate change and all that crap.
But wait, all is not lost.
A Dutch company is building a Gas terminal on the coast by one of our major cities and will import gas from Dohar.
Then we had the Climate Worriers block a major highway using two petrol driven trucks saying fossil fuel is bad.
Oxymoron's comes to mind, as do ordinary ones.

Re: Just stop Oil
Sounds as though your lot is as daft as our lot. We are sitting on untold gas fields but the Government has given into the Greens by banning fravking.

#64 Vic the Fracking ban was lifted by by Liz Truss during her Premeirship
The government has lifted the ban on fracking for shale gas in England, alongside unveiling its plans to limit rising energy costs.
The controversial practice was halted in 2019, amid opposition from environmentalists and local concerns over earth tremors.
But new Prime Minister Liz Truss has backed fracking as a way to help boost the UK's domestic gas supplies.

Maybe it has been re inststed by Rishi Sunak ?

Re: Just stop Oil
Well no surprise there really. It is not popular, to many unanswered questions. Earth tremors and qater table pollution.

Re: Just stop Oil
Well, the Canadians, who have been fracking for decades, haven't suffered earth tremors nor water table upsurges!
They must be doing things right!

Re: Just stop Oil
Well they certainly have suffered earth tremors in certain areas of Lancashire.
So all those in favour of fracking would have no objections to the practice of fracking taking place in close proximity to were they live?

Re: Just stop Oil
Here in Oz, a new coal mine in Queensland to open for coking coal exports, and Fracking to be allowed in Northern Territory.
No matter how many stop oliers came to try, the projects will go ahead.
All part of our plan for zero emissions by some time in the very distant future, about 2050 by gov standards.
Reality will be more like 2150.
