Re: Just stop Oil
I think a lot of us would gladly live life in the past than what we have today. Care free when money ran out you shipped out. Then one by one we met our wives to be and it was time to wind your neck in. My first mrs forced me to leave the sea, thankfully I wised up gave her the keys to the house and the car and buggered off back to doing what I enjoyed doing. My now wife 41 years married yesterday understood and certainly never complained to me about what I did. We had time togather in many parts of the world be it me doing contract work in the Gulf , Trinidad even Jacksonville Flordia. As soon as my lad was born that put things on hold for a few years. I was earning good money and we had a comfortable life style, still do, but as the years go by the Telgraph seldom gets above half ahead these days.

In Tasmania BP are installing Hydrogen bowsers in all the servos there.
Here on the big island the first of such has just been installed and a Toyota Hydrogen car is filling there.
Part of a demonstation of the future, not EV.

Re: Just stop Oil
That is BP and not BHP John isn’t it.? I know some of the members of this site may get a bit flummoxed when they see BHP and BP in different posts .BHP for those who need differentials stands for Broken Hill Propriety an Australian Company one of the biggest in the country . BP I assume all will know.. JS......

Re: Just stop Oil
Announced today by the state gov, in line with EU and others, will from 2035 no longer be able to buy new petrol or diesel vehicles, hybrids will also be banned.
All new houses will be electric only.
The gov is slow on this bit as for the last three years all new housing is all electric

Re: Just stop Oil
Hi John.
They are still installing gas in houses down here in Cooma, god knows why as I think it is dearer that electric, but I suppose some people must have both, as it was minus 7 last night they may want to gas themselves. BRRRR.

Re: Just stop Oil
Bit cold down here Des, but your minus 7, hope you can hang on to it as we have no use for it here in Victoria.

Re: Just stop Oil
Watch David Bellamy's views on the global warming con. Its all about generating fear to raise more money from taxation and fill the pockets of shareholders.

Re: Just stop Oil
Some years ago the south sea islands said sea levels were rising and flooding them.
Bellamy did some research and said no, the islands are sinking,
Why, because the natural underground water table had been expunged and the islands were in fact sinking.
He was laughed at by so many.
Last year UN scientists after much research told the world that what he claimed was in deed true.
Pity there are not more like him, but Obama is on the right track at least.
