Did you know why Clownfish change sex to reach the top ?
In a community of clownfish , which live on Australias Great Barrier Reef, only the dominant pair are sexually active.
If the dominant male dies , one of the sub adults will take his place, but if the female dies, her mate the dominate male -changes sex and becomes a female. Then a new sexually active male joins the new female at the top.
among the blueheaded wrasse of the coral reefs in the Atlantic , should a dominant male die , then the largest of the dull-coloured females undergoes a magnificent transformation into a male.
Any similaraties to the life on a UCL vessel is purely coincidental .

I was just reading up on the old knobby. Quite an animal not very much liked by sailors and never met any who were shark lovers, as some are ashore.
Sub Title " How the Male Sharks Flush out the Competition ".
Shark Courtship is a complex manouvre requiring the male to " Dock" alongside the female. The male shark has two sexual organs to enable him to fertalize a female whether he docks on the port or starboard . These " claspers" are grooved , rod like structures , which he inserts into the female. Using a muscle- driven hydraulic system in his abnominal wall, the sperm is transferred in a stream of water, which at the same time flushes sperm from previous matings out of the female.
This knowledgeable book should be locked away with the Shipmasters Medical Book which is bad enough , and kept away from young innocent eyes.

Then here in Melbourne we have men who regularly change sex.
One was a family man for many years and a footy coach, then one day appeared in a lovely dress and with a name change.
Gender reassignment is now a budding industry, budding being the main point.

As to Clown fish I only thought they were found in parliament!!

I was on the TSS Palana when we hit Pine Peak Island in the Great Barrier Reef around midnight, After some months we managed to get her into dry dock in Cockatoo Island, Sydney. Got a bit of a shock when I saw the damage.

#5 I was on a ship originally called Cockatoo Creek renamed Miclyn Pride when I was there. Run by Mermaid Marine of Fremantle. JS
The Miclyn was derived from the owner and his wife’s name a Singaporean couple Michael and Lynn.

Miclyn Pride you say, would have fitted in well the other day in Sydney with their pride march.
Wonder now about the PM, he was there at the head of the parade.
Always thougt him a bit odd.

If they had kept the original first name of the ship to go with the Pride bit , it might have raised a few eyebrows to match the false eye lashes of some of the marchers ? JS

Now to answer another post, would the Chinese want to capture a sicko City like Sydney. Not the same City I used to now in my teens and early twenties.
