During the pandemic there was a huge backlog waiting for cremations, I wonder why no one thought of utilising the waste heat from the cremators, they could have run 24/7 and reduced the back log at same time.

Heard on the news that scientists in the US have developed fusion which is not nuclear and can produce more energy than it takes to create it but is going to take a few decades to finalise this means of power. Maybe that is the way things are going that at least there is a group out there with positive thoughts and not like the morons stuck in the past and refusing what is blindly obvious and sticking to their negative thoughts. Not much heard about wave power either but seems that scientists are still looking into that as well. I see the irony in all this crap. Power will not be a problem in decades to come but will we be the next generation be around to see it, How many of us recall our childhood going to school in thick smog and one of the reasons was because of all the coal fires that we used to warm the house with. How quickly that dispersed once they did away with that. Not a word of all the unemployed coalmen or chimmney sweeps.
That's the way the mop flops.

The Japanese nuclear plant was done in by a Sunami, not by man.

It has been announced by the gov that they will build a battery in three0indivivual parts in three states,'
Total out put will power Tassie, all 250,000 of the for three hours.
The amount of Lithium to be dug up is mind boggling.

    Then off shore wind farms.
Nothing wrong with them, but they cost twice as much because of the additional building, and life expectancy down by half due to salt erosion.

Les, no one is opposed to improving the quality of fuel what ever kind it may be.
But rushing head long into it with no back up.
Germany along with a few other nations in the EU block are reopening cola fired power stations because they no understand you need back ups.

I have 14 panels on my roof, no battery because of costs.
So are not eligible for the gov electric cook top to replaced the gas one.

Change as radical as the proposed move from gas and coal to wind and solar will need time, ye sit will be good for man, but slowly does it.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Oh dear Les. From latest edition of Australian Mining. Looks like a few countries don't believe the rubbish on man made climate change.
December 19, 2022. 'Coal overtakes iron ore as Australia’s top export earner' and yet we're closing down our power stations before we even have enough power from renewables which will never happen anyway.

Coking coal for steel manufacturing is important for so many countries.
But thermal coal now is just as important as

EU has just announced it will reduce the rules regarding Methane, a mystery as far as I and many are concerned as it occurs so naturally across ther globe.
Every creature produces it, as does all decomposing material.

Many are now coming to understand there is more behind the issue of so called Climate change than they realise.
Climate change does not happen within a few years, it can take hundreds of years for a climate to change as can be evidenced by historical facts.

But there are many now making big money from all the hype, Kia just announced their latest concept in EV.
Looks quite good and a steal at only $110,000 each.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

    Just hot off the press.
Gov of NSW has given the approval of some 820 new gas mines to be opened.
    As the premier stated ,
"We need regular power for homes and industry, this will be the best way to do that'.

The area is one where the Aboriginal population are concerned about heritage sites but the gov has said all will be done to protect them.

The NSW premier is said to be one of the smarter polis in Oz.

Add to that, a new pumped hydro scheme is being considered for one of the larger dams in NSW, until this year it has been very low but with substantial rainfall it is now in a situation to be suitable for such a project.

Think I must live in a different NSW to the one that John is proud of. It is our belated premier that had our transport system manufactured overseas. Ferries that do not run in rough weather, Do not fit under bridges and have that many faults it is ridiculas. Trains that do not fit through some tunnels and having cracks rewelded plus security on them is crap. it is going to cost more to modify the busses than they are worth. As for the latest news just be reminded that elections are early next year. Hopefully we get to kick this bugger out and his LNP penis heads along with him.

As for waiting for technology to take its time is a load of crap we need to transition as fast as we can so that they get of their fat back sides and develop it quicker because all they are doing is raking in high paying jobs and dragging the anchor to make it last. That my friends is the crux of why we are not moving towards renewables quicker and all you deniers are assisting them with open arms and closed minds
That's the way the mop flops.

Don't worry about jobs Les. Dickhead Bowen promised with all our new renewables technology the world will be beating down our doors to get access and there will be at least 100,000 new jobs created.
What he didn't mention is that they'll be in China.

Australia's a vast country John and I've often thought how good it would be if we could allocate a few thousand sq miles on the coast for all the Greens, Teals, Extinction Rebellion, Just stop the Oil, Vegetarians and fellow travellers to live in, with their wind turbines, solar panels, electric cars and acres and acres of prickly pear for their tender stomaches and give the rest of us peace.
There's no law against dreaming yet is there?

Change as radical as the proposed move from gas and coal to wind and solar will need time, Maybe we do not have time on our side anymore??

The Nuclear accident in Okuma & Fatuba maybe not the best place to build a nuclear plant, especially seeing as Japan has more earth quakes than any other country on the planet.
