John this UK government could teach the EU a few things about how the art of corruption. Ask any banker working in the financial sector in the City of London.
Say what you like about the French, they are loyal to their home industries. French people still buy french cars, french wine, french food and usually holiday in France.
France has the highest number of world wide tourists. People must go there for a reason!!!!

Germany got such a foot hold in the British market because the Brits cannot get enough of anything made in Germany. Like a lot of other EU countries and the rest of the world people want German products, reason !!!they make quailty goods.
Take the Auto industry. Volks Wagon group largest automoble manufacturer in the world, why quality!!!!

I have said nothing about the French. In fact they deserve a little respect for the stand they take against the authoritarian rule
of frere Macron. I do not agree with their standpoint in wanting to keep the retiral age at 62 but they stand up to the underhand
manner that Macron tries to push this through.

All of us in mainland Europe are being herded into a metaphorical pen. At the age of 76 I'm glad I won't be around to experience it
though feel so very sorry for my kids and grandkids.

No , Erasmus is a Dutch initiative based out of the Erasmus university in Rotterdam. It has created a lot of ill feeling among young
Dutch students as they have to join the queue - to their own university !.

Sorry John , but it is only named after the Dutch philosopher, Desiderius Erasmus of Rotterdam.

It was an Italian idea created by Sofia Corradi.
The idea of promoting cultural , social and academic exchanges between European students. It started in 1969. At least that is what my son tells me He teaches Erasmus students in Bordeaux. He was one to benefit from the Erasmus programme. He did a year in Aix en Provence and also took his masters degree in Bordeaux.
That privilege has now been removed for UK students.

A long standing friend gave this story to the Mail today.

Whilst running a pub in N.I for literally months. Apparently....

'Gray was forced to stop her car at a 'checkpoint which was run by balaclava-clad terrorists.'She thought initially it was the Army and didn't realise the guy was a paramilitary. He said to her: "We want the car, get out." 'And she just bluntly refused and said: "No." 'Taken aback, he said: "What?" Unless I see written proof of a Police Report corroborating the above then there's not a hope in hell I would believe that story. One of the lessons learned when living in the South and travelling through the North at that time, if held up, you would have given your car tout suite and prayed they wouldn't shoot you regardless.
