Re: WE have now copped it
WE had a number of very warm days down here until Cup day, then it went pear shaped.
Cold and wet, but the same thing occurred last year at about the same time.
According to the weather experts this is being caused by the La Nina effect which comes about when the Southern ocean Dipole is not functioning.
They claim that by the end of the month all will improve, similar to last year.
There si much concern about the floods and the damage it does to properties etc, but the problem there is simple.
Do not build on flood plains.
So many small communities are built on such as over the years council have agreed with this policy, more properties, more revenue from rates.

Re: WE have now copped it
The Eastern coast of Oz has had it's coldest Spring for 40 years.
Second wettest on record, though early records are not that good.
WA did little better and Queensland is having a very poor start to their summer.
But as to the floods, not the worst
1896 was 1 meter higher than this year, 1950 about the same and 12974 a bit less.
Could take almost a year for the Murray river to come back to normal.
What is normal???????

Re: WE have now copped it
As I told Cappy, I was sorry to be a drudge. Went to the Drs yesterday to see if he could find out what was wrong with me, {Not in the head]
heavy sweating at night, weak in the morning, persistent cough, he sent me for a series of blood tests plus urine, said he would ring me as soon as he got the results if there was anything bad, have to see him on Tue. I have always been fit and healthy, I put it down to people coughing their lungs up without covering their mouths, never see anyone using a handkerchief these days.

Re: WE have now copped it
#34. I must run on a parallel track to you Des as have had similar symptoms as yours plus an overall itch feet to the top of the head . All the doctor would say was well !! You are getting old you know and gave me cream for the itch which did nothing . In the finish I asked him to refer me to a dermatologist and go for the 2nd expensive visit on Wednesday after 2 blood tests. The itch has gone due to the more powerful tablets which according to my family doctor was the big stuff , the itchy feet I have always had due to not wanting to be in one place for any great length of time has disappeared as well . Depending on the next visit will be a view to what Xmas may be , merry or not ? Cheers hope your Xmas is merry as well. JS
