Melbourne Cup day here yesterday, coldest since 1923 according to the weather men.
Only 13.5 at the warmest, but cold winds all day.
Heavy early rain then afternoon sun.
Last Cup day so cold was in 1993 and 2003 when it rained and only about 14 degrees.

But the latest forecast is for some very odd weather.
Starting from Friday at about 18 and going up daily to about 27 by this time next week.

But Vernon mate, climate and weather are two different things.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Now Doc, those ladies are only thinking of us oldies and are being very considerate in raising our temperatures

    [QUOTE=Doc Vernon;

This Weather is absolutely crazy!!! And some say there is no climate change! Better think again!
Ok John in Oz! Here we go. LOL[/QUOTE]

Climate change, we all have our views on that, was it climate change that caused one of the biggest floods in history (apart from Noah!) in 1931 in China when 4 million people perished. Floods in Bangladesh, surprise surprise, they were happening when it was called East Pakistan, it is a land of Deltas, and people are building on sandbanks to be near the fishing, so yes in floods there will be great loss of life. The planet will do what the planet wants to do, and man has to live with that, if the planet wants to implode or explode then there is nothing man can do about it.

#14 A few nuclear explosions will maybe do the trick one way or the other by altering the tilt of the earth . Be prepared then for real climate change. JS

There are many reasons why there are fluctuations in the earths weather system...
Another one never mentioned is magnetic storms..Collins Dictionary gives definition. As. A sudden severe disturbance of the earths magnetic field, caused by emission of charged particles from the Sun.
We already know there are severe disturbances in the earths magnetic field by the larger than usual movement of the magnetic poles. Any good compass adjuster will tell you that. A half a degree change in the earths tilt would also do havoc with the worlds weather . Yet the brains of this century have to choose the one option they can fiddle with by fancy talking above peoples heads.Someone of good repute should put out a lengthy paper of all the other options, and there are many, that could be the real source of the severe weather being experienced in certain areas of the world at present, and at the very least try and prove their own authenticity and truth for some of the trust put in them as so called experts. We all know or should. Know what Dewpoint is , for those who don’t, it is the temperature at which the air must be cooled to cause condensation, with the suggested different ranges today of changes in such caused by whatever method you choose to believe , this is the probable or one of the causes of the heavy downpours some are experiencing. I am not a meteorologist as this is just schoolboy basic knowledge, but I think in general the public are being taken as fools , when they accept some of the theory’s put out about climate change. JS

Australia, a land of droughts and flooding rains.

My friend who spent some 40 odd years at the weather bureau has senn records going back to the first settlers.
Nothing happening here in Oz now is new, it has all happened before.
And had the Abbos had a written history no doubt it would gone back even further.

JS is correct about the tilt of the earth, there are r a few in USA who agree with that but are shouted down by the ones who are reaping millions from all of this.

Judith curry, a fine USA lady has written many papers on the subject, all well worth a read.
She tells it as it is, the truth.

See France and Germany are to refit coal fired power stations to ensure enough heat during winter

One guy here, an Asian, is making a fortune, along with a few others, selling coal to any one who wants it.
    Plenty of buyers out there.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Read some story years ago that the age of the dinosaurs was expleted due to the collision of an asteroid with the earth. Maybe it was responsible for our list and the advent of our seasons and the start of climate which has always been changing from its birth. For the average person to understand the complexity of the universe or even a small fraction of it , must be a genius. JS

If I had the money, I would buy a coal fired power station and a few windmills. I would then close the power station and make a windfall profit from the windmills as the price of electricity soared!!

On the theme, a scientific journal has stated that at the Greenwich Meridian the earth's magnetic North is now aligned with True North and will remain so for about 3.5 years, now will that make the compass adjuster's job harder or easier.
