good morning, your correct about jesus saying suffer little children, But i dont think he meant for the cleric staff including the nuns to be inflicting the pain,
But my everlasting memory of the sainted Sister Cuthbert whom used to stalk the corridors looking to inflict bodily harm on those unwary enough to be caught, of which i was one, And after her whipping me, i fled to my home which was a couple of hundred yards away, Oh the joy for me when my old man took me back into school and into the witches office where he poured the full contents of a large bottle of ink. over her head.

I tink me levity may ave fallen a bit flat

My parents never got chance to remonstrate with the nuns, either physically or verbally, the school was seven miles away, dad was at sea and the last bus to town from the village was at 4pm and mum wasn't likely to catch it and then walk seven miles home, we know love has no bounds, but seven miles! not a chance, all I got was 'well you must have deserved it'

I am not in anyway religious, though like millions of British kids went to church on Sundays, mainly to give Mum and Dad a little cosy time on Sundays after a full weeks work.
So I was stunned by a mate who I sailed with for five years and who was brought up Catholic, the tales he told me about the punishments he received by the Nuns where horrendous, I was glad we never had any in our Village. He used to spit on them anytime he passed any in the street, he told me of being stripped naked and beaten, plus other punishments he got , god knows what for, and I suppose if there is a god they will receive their own version of what they did to him.
My mate Joe Driscoll jumped ship in Aus and eventually died in a fire at his home in the early seventies. Best shipmate I ever had; plenty of laughs along life's highway.

Apart from the religious forms of punishment the one about the father who used to clip his son around the ears at
frequent intervals, and when the son said What’s that for Dad ? I’ve done nothing wrong . The father said it’s to remind you of what you’ll get if you do. JS

In Ireland in church one Sunday morning Paddy and Mick were sat behind a lady.
When they all got up Mick noticed the skirt of the lady was caught up her backside, so being the gentleman he was he reached over and pulled it out.
She turned round and gave him a slap across the face.

Next Sunday Paddy was there with Sean and sat behind the same lady.
When they all got up, sure enough the skirt was caught up again.
Sean was about to pull it out when Paddy said,
No leave it, she likes it tucked in.

Just as an aside, the Nuns when taking a bath had to wear a smock so they did not see their own naked body.
    Funny lot!!!!

#30 John ref. The Russian soldier who received a sledge hammer through the head for not being able to run faster.... A sure sign that Putin is getting short of munitions , when a bullet would of done the job quicker and cleaner .That coupled with his asking for the return of his rockets from Belarus must be a sure sign of his predicament . JS
PS I can just imagine at an imaginary trial if Putin ever had to face one and this act of murder cropped up.his answer would probably be , he was allowed to keep his helmet on and we were testing it, it failed the test. JS

#66 I was going to add add to the helmet and Putin’s suspected reply to the charges , that he would complete the sentence about the faulty helmet , tbat it was purchased in China, but thought this might show an unwarranted bias on my part. JS .

Maybe Putin was worried that those rockets would have been fired by Belarus into Russia. Alexander Lukashenko is just hanging on to power thanks to his buddy Putin.

Belarus: ‘Full-scale assault’ ongoing against civil society amid massive human rights violations this was in July 2021.

The major concern now comes from a number of countries all close to the Russian border, all worry where he may try to take over next.

Though with what many in Ukraine now consider a spent force as far as his army goes one wonders what next?

He could always ask Superman to come back though I did hear all the phone boxes have been wrecked.
