    About 9 months ago I received a card made up from snippets out of newspapers for the year 1962 as these were actual snippets and before the reader points out the obvious mistakes such as Queen Elizabeth 11 any Scotsman up in arms about false info. Take it up with the news media of the time. Anyhow this collection of facts is Titled 1962 and marked up as 4d. Limited Edition .

    Remember most John, when i first joined the Fire Service 1964, a petrol station right opposite, a Jet station, petrol 22p or in those days 4/6 per gallon, now Uk petrol very near £10 a gallon.

    Population now some 8 billion.
    Do recall most of those facts, but there are some missing.

    Such as I got totally stoned out of my mind in Del Monico had to be carried back to the ship.
    Cliff Richards went on a Summer Holiday and Smiths crisps still had the little blue paper with salt in it.

    UK went to liters and Kilos after joining the EU, but for some odd, or mad reason, they still use miles, feet and inches and pints of beer.

    #7 The silver Three Penny Bit was called a “Threpny Joey”. On my way to school around 1943 I would buy a little Bread Twist at the Bakery Shop for a Farthing. On a day flour was available that is.
