#40 That golden share rule did not only apply to the UK, it applied to all member states. The government were not forced into selling off the nationalised industries. The sell off was supposed to be to create investment. Well that has worked out well a blind man on a galloping horse could see how that would pan out.

44, The Golden share was the protection, that was removed by the EU.
I never stated that the Government was forced to sell off the nationalised industries.

Short and strait to the point.
The Ice Age came and went into extinction naturally, the Dinosaurs and theDodo likewise.
Now it's our turn to await extinction naturally.
All this Global Warming business is a lot of non proven nonsense.

    Fouro.

#45 Never suggested you did imply that the government were forced to sell off nationalised industries. There was nothing to stop the government buying back the shares was there? France are in the process of nationalising EDF. Seeing as EDF is one of the UK's biggest energy suppliers it will now be owned by a friendly foreign government The new Nuclear plants being constructed I believe are of french design.

The new nuclear plants being built in the South of England , EDF Energy has the lion’s share of the £20.3bn project, while state-owned Chinese firm CGN has a 33% share in the power station.
Seriously would this have happened if utilities had still been under government control. The reactors being used are still not fully operational in France and have been giving problems for a long time, corrosion issues within the reactors I believe..

I really do fear for the future of my grand children and their children. Country is being led by idiots be it Conservative or Labour etc!! Profit first, safety ah well we will cross that bridge when we come to it.
