Re: Renewable energy
cappy Yr.# 21. Exactly. Ex PM's should button it.Why do they not wonder why they are ex-PM's? They were, with the exception of Maggie Thatcher perhaps, absolute dismal failures-yet they mostly have Lord this or Lady that preceding their name to indicate their 'greatness!....
It is noticeable how, once out of office, they think they can pontificate on current issues and they will be listened to -well,haven't we got news for them!
Did you notice how Theresa May,the worst UK PM in modern times,(Gordon Brown and John Major are close runners-up) suddenly grew a pair ,and started carping at Boris and others from the Commons back benches? Contrast that with the way she handled Brexit with the EU....

Re: Renewable energy
I don't think selling gold and Theresa May's attempted Brexit deal contributed to climate change, but do not want to interrupt the Tory boys reminisces.

I wonder will Boris quietly go away or will he become a thorn in the side of the new PM who takes over.
A recent YouGov poll this weekend suggests Johnson would lose his seat if an election were held tomorrow. Electoral Calculus, which analyses national polling data, is also tentatively favouring a Labour win in the west London constituency.
Before becoming prime minister, Johnson voted against a measure to stop climate change and backed a measure to increase taxes on renewable energy.
Anyway regardless we are discussing Renewable energy not has been PM's

Re: Renewable energy
I do not see the relevance of your comment, unless you are referring about the RHI scandal?

Re: Renewable energy
James, yes we agree to disagree, no worries there mate shows we are not just being lead by the nose by some.
As to the water crisis in UK, going back to the 1979 dry spell we were told that all the water from underground chalk had been used and it would take significant rain to replace it. Did it never occur to them to maybe build some resoviors?
But did I read somewhere that France owns and runs some of the water systems in UK?
Global population at the time of Spanish Flu, 1918 was about 2 billion, now close to 8.
A similar increase in live stock to feed them.
All living creatures produce carbon dioxide and Methane, all that decomposes also produces Methane.
Both being heavier than air make sone wonder how they can build a blanket in the atmosphere?
AS to the Greens and Vegans, we now have some independents in Federal parliament who want to ban all advertising for what they call ;Junk food; KFC etc.
Problem is if they call it that they will be sued fort defamation as all the ingredients are of top quality, it is the amount ingested by the people that is the problem.
Attempt to ban something and there is every chance you will develop a black market for the product, prohibition is a good example.
Education of the masses would solve the problem maybe, but where will that come from, not the gov as they have now removed a number of subjects from the school year, no more history, geography, and a few others to be replaced by what are no more than WOKE subjects.
So health will continue to take a back seat.
Happy daze John in Oz.
Life is too short to blend in.

Re: Renewable energy
John, Concerning who owns the water companies in England 70% is owned by overseas companies.
Some of the leading overseas owners of England’s privatised water companies include:
Malaysian company YTL Corporation Berhad which owns all of Wessex Water
Cheung Kong Group, a multinational registered in the Cayman Islands run by family of Li Ka Shing (Hong Kong’s richest person). They own 80% of Northumbrian Water.
U.S. hedge funds Blackrock, Lazard and Vanguard each own a stake in Severn Trent, United Utilities and South West Water
Between Germany’s Deutsche Asset Management and US private equity company Corsair Capital own half of Yorkshire Water
40% of Southern Water is owned by US investment company JP Morgan Asset Management
A third of Thames Water is owned by investment fund companies from the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, China and Australia
Australia’s Colonial First State Global Asset Management owns a stake in Anglian Water, Severn Trent, United Utilities and South West Water
In recent months, GMB investigations into England’s nine privatised water companies have revealed the following:
Dividends worth £6.5 billion were paid out to shareholders in the past five years, with £1.4 billion paid out in 2017 alone.
2.4 billion litres of water is wasted through leaks every single day in England.
CEOs of the nine privatised water company trousered a whopping £58 million in salary, bonuses, pensions and other benefits over the past five years.
While shareholders pocketed these eye-watering sums, consumer water bills in England and Wales have increased by 40% above inflation since privatisation in 1989 according to a report by the National Audit Office.
John Methane is not heavier in Air CO2 is though.
