Have heard of similar in other countries.
Report today from one renewable sceptic tells how for each new renewable piece of equipment used to replace existing power sources the price of power increases.
    Could well be true.

According to one report each turbine costs about $7 million US to build and install.
Expected life of blades maximum ten years then need replacing and currently no means of recyling them.
Solar panels life expectancy about 25 years with efficiency falling each year in use.
    At best about 40% efficient.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

The more renewables built the costs should fall. It is a simple proven fact the earth is heating up and a major contributor is the use of fossil fuels. I have been watching a programme Big Oil v The world. Exxon knew as far back as the mid 70's fossil fuels were damaging the planet. The former CEO of BP Lord Brown was on the programme and had some very enlightening points about fossil fuels and the damage they are doing, air quaility is dropping children are more prone now to the likes of Asthma and other breathing related issues. BP now stands for Beyond Petroleum.

There is a lady by the name of Judith Curry, has written a number of books and article son the matter of so called global warming, well worth reading.

An article put out last week by a well known Japanese climatologist shows just how many of the population are being lead astray by this claim.
He notes where many persons with vested interests are leading the push.
Announced here today in Oz that off shore sites will be allocated for new wind farms.

Fine, but a recent report from UK shows that such turbines have a much reduced shelf life due to salt corrosion.

As to more making power cheaper, look there goes another one flying by.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

The so called Climate Change controversy appeared to me to start in a Big Bang under dubious beginnings. The losing contender for the Presidency of the United States jumping in with both feet giving it worldwide impetus. It would have appeared more trustworthy a cause to me if the already clean air acts of mainly Western Countries had been tightened up first with the attending advertising explaining the whys and wherefore rather than a failed politician trying to drown his sorrows. It appeared as it did as a big bang trying to cause panic in the public’s mind. Nothing since then has happened to change any doubt I had at the sudden Big Headlines and current warnings of dire consequences . Our world the same as probably numerous others has continually been changing since Time immortal and will do so into infinity. JS.

Al Gore being the said politician. Now who was the Govenor of the decisive state, Florida,Jeb Bush. Not saying he had a vested interest in seeing his older brother being elected President.

Bush v. Gore, 531 U.S. 98 (2000), was a decision of the United States Supreme Court on December 12, 2000, that settled a recount dispute in Florida's 2000 presidential election between George W. Bush and Al Gore. On December 8, the Florida Supreme Court had ordered a statewide recount of all undervotes, over 61,000 ballots that the vote tabulation machines had missed. The Bush campaign immediately asked the U.S. Supreme Court to stay the decision and halt the recount. Justice Antonin Scalia, convinced that all the manual recounts being performed in Florida's counties were illegitimate, urged his colleagues to grant the stay immediately.[1] On December 9, the five conservative justices on the Court granted the stay for Bush, with Scalia citing "irreparable harm" that could befall Bush, as the recounts would cast "a needless and unjustified cloud" over Bush's legitimacy. In dissent, Justice John Paul Stevens wrote that "counting every legally cast vote cannot constitute irreparable harm."[1] Oral arguments were scheduled for December 11.

Trump says he had the election stolen from him lol. Think Gore could make the same claim.

Has anyone actually watched the programme Big Oil v The world, really is worth watching.
The implementation of the The Montreol Protocal has shown that the hole in the Ozone layer is reducing thanks to the reduction

The ozone layer is the area where the treatment will be where the ozone concentration is higher than normal. This layer protects us against harmful ultraviolet radiation from the sun. However, the emission of some chemical substances known by the name of chlorofluorocarbons a has caused a hole in the ozone layer. This hole has been known for decades and is shrinking thanks to the Montreal protocol.

There is much talk today about climate/global warming and for the greater majority of people information is sourced from the media, be it written, visual or social.
Those of us who may choose to think out side the square are classified as climate deniers.

Have a very good mate who for some 44 years worked at the Melbourne met office.
They have records going back to when Victoria became a colony, over 200 years ago.
Records show that the weather patterns we experience have happened numerous time before.

The parameters that determine a climate do not change, climates will always be what they are.
There are temperate, tropical, sub tropical, arctic, sub arctic, mediterainean, and no doubt a few others.
Do those who claim climate change is taking place think that all these climates will change at the same time?
What will they then become? Tropics considered to be the hottest, will they then become the hot tropics?
It can take thousands of years for a climate to change. all the climates changing at the same time??
An example, the southern half of Norway/ Sweden was some 2500 years ago a Mediteranean climate, over a period of some 2000 years it changed to sub arctic.
Ireland was about 1 million years ago tropical, the evidence is in the peat bogs across the county.

Currently in the south of England there are hose pipe bans due to a water shortage, the same occured in 1959 and 1976. You my recall that in the 60’s scientists warned us that the 70’s would usher in an ice age, still waiting.
In about 1904 the Thames rose to a point where it covered the embankment, in the 1500’s it froze to the point where Oxen were roasted on it. Were these events part of climate change?

In London for the claimed heat wave in July. On the Friday prior a warning about it but no mention of it being caused by global warming, rather that it was heat from central EU being dragged up by a weather pattern.
On the Monday a reporter showed the temperature using a thermometer on the ground in the middle of a very dry paddock. At 1100 hours it showed 37.5 degrees.
On the news that night a claim the city temperature had reached some 37.5 degrees.
Many seeing that would consider it to be true, but that is not how temperatures are measured.

What is the truth about climate/ global warming, it is what you are prepared to accept as truth, but that in itself may not be true. There are so many with vested interests in this that the truth is totally
    obscured.
Here in Oz an ex prime minister who owns shares in wind farm, also set up a doc com during the early days of that, then sold out for a profit. Not an environmentalist, rather a speculator.

To politicians it is climate change, often used to garner votes and to claim power prices will fall , to scientists global warming. But as yet I have seen no evidence of what the average mean temperatures of the globe is so how do we measure global warming?

As to power prices falling, just another gimic by clever politicians.
The average cost of a wind turbine is in the region of $7 million US, they have limited shelf life.
The blades will need replacing during the life of it at significant costs. Currently they then go to land fill as there is no recycling for them.
Built by companies out to make a profit, the power then sold to retailers who also want a profit.
From start to finish on them some company along the way makes money from it, all costs including replacement end up with the end user, you and me the mug consumers in all of this.

As to the Ozone it has been now established that it opens and closes on a regular basis.

Interesting series on Shy by the name of 'The true cost of Net Zero'
Watched on episode which shows how Lithium is being extracted from sands along a beach in Chile.
All looks very inocent until you discover a number of small village s along this coast line are being shut off.
Flamigo's that rely on these beaches for food supply are having to source new ones.
Then there is the polution caused by the mining process, building batteries etc.

    But on a positive note.
In the town of Lytton in Queensland the first hydrogen service station has been opened, the fuel of the future, not the EV.

I have been reading that removal of dried up oil sites in Bass Straight is being held up as removing foundations in the sea bed will cause serious harm to the environment on the sea bed. Now they are planning putting more sea bed foundations in the Bass straight for wind farms. NO mention by green mob of how they can be removed without damage.

#7 John you mention hose pipe bans in the South of England and perhaps they will be introduced in other areas. Well there was a woman on TV last night ,I think she was a spokes person for Southern Water? she was being questioned on why it takes so long to repair water leaks. She said some water leaks are harder to fix than others, she knows her stuff eh!! It is estimated that 660 million gallons of water is lost in England & Wales every day. Also I suspect that the increase in population density in the South of England and lack of investment by water companies has something to do with it. 17,000 illegal immigrants have crossed the channel this year already. No doubt they will all need a drink and a shower as well.
I mentioned the tv programme Big Oil v The World, last programme was al lot about Methane escaping into the atmospehre. Got me thinking.
The world population 200 years ago was according to WIKI 1 billion people it is estimated today to be 7.7 billion people. Now if all these Vegans get their way and all we will be allowed to eat is Veggies. All I can say is speaking from expeirence if I have a good old fashioned vegetable soup some nice wholemeal bread a few pints beer I certainly produce a lot more Methane. If Vegans get their way the next generations will have to go to a (zoo) if they are still allowed or maybe a museum to see what cows and other farm yard animals looked like.

On climate change best we agree to disagree. I say there is climate change and you are not convinced. Concerning Electric cars I do agree, I think it is a CON job, Hydrogen is the future.
