    Default Sri Lanka

Anyone know what country the Sri Lanka President has fled to. Maybe time for you Fouro to get your search tools out and see he doesn’t go over the cash limits. JS .....

    Hi John.
I always liked the Sri Lankans, calling in for bunkers many times. They were always cheerful people. They have been shafted by that family for years; I hope this time they get a better deal, that is if their economy ever recovers from all the thieving.

Think Boris is going for Panama. Just a joke . JS
I wonder how these crooks such as the Sri Lankan stand in the eyes of the World. Or are they considered like a ship seeking a port of refuge. Used to be that criminals absconding with money were returned by Interpol to their port of origin to stand trial, or is that today null and void for the higher ups. Cheers JS

I was in Colombo with Blue Funnel. A guy came aboard with a cage full of chicks, he told an ordinary seaman they were myna birds, which are very good talkers, and he would make a lot money selling them in UK. The O.S bought them all, keeping them in the rec. room which we didn't use. After a while the birds were getting bigger every day, making a hell of a mess, then someone told him he had bought a load of black crows which are everywhere in the country, flying rats.

After Colombo we went to a place with a wonderful name, also in Ceylon as it was then, Trincomalee. Taking one of the lifeboats we headed to a beach with a couple of cases of beer and spent the day swimming and diving in the clear water.
A few of the local kids joined us and asked for the empty cans, I suppose they made something useful out of them.

This part of the country was populated mainly by Tamils, so many of the kids were probably killed as adults in the government war with the Tamil Tigers.
