    Default Poor Olive

Shame , the Actress that took the part of Olive in On the Busses has died tragically in a Fire in London! Always watch the Series when its on here and love it! We all must at some time go i know, but i have always said although i am not really afraid of going, the one thing a dred is to go in a Fire! It must be the worst for the duration until one is overcome by Flames and Fumes!
Rest her dear Soul, thanks for the laughs and memories!
    Sincerely

    HI Vernon.
Funny thing is we watched a rerun of On The Buses about a month ago, Olive was on it of course, and the bloke with the big teeth, the old inspector who was young at the time has been in loads of comedies since then.
I Hope she is resting in peace, sad and nasty way to go.

Shame to die in a house fire.

An interesting fact for you to tell your cronies next time you are down the pub is that Reg Varney from 'On The Buses' was the first person in the World to use an ATM machine (55 years ago) or as we call them a 'Hole in the Wall'

I agree John the only trouble today is finding one. If you have to go to one these new ones , they charge you, whereas of it is your own banks machine they don’t. It seems the usual trick today of the banks cutting most of their machines out. For those of us who also use cheque’s their end is in sight and only those in favour of keeping holding them back , for making them history as far as the banks are concerned. And they have the nerve to call it progress , I will never use internet banking and promote the criminal element into my back pocket. Will be interesting to see how the Russians get round getting their money out of the bank Frank. After of course they have used up any gold reserves the Ukraine had in their vaults . Cheers JS

I suspect that someone in the banking world has a finger in those new ATMs, the one we use in the RSL charges $2, never thought that one day would be paying to get my own money, surprised my old bosses didn't think of that when they paid my wages, Thank you Des hers your wages that will be $5 for accounting fees thanks.

When I paid my house off Des, I went into the bank to pick up my Deeds, I had to pay to get them to return. However if I had left them with the Bank for safekeeping they would have accumulated rental prices , so it was cheaper to pay up and shove off out of it. I still need a bank however as pensions etc. have to go to an address to go into. Every so often get letters saying do I want to borrow any money etc. I darent say I wouldnt touch them with a barge pole in case they charge me for the privilege , The interest rates as you know are crap , but what they charge other people for the use of your money , I would like to see the true figure with all the small bits of expenditure put in the frame as well. Happiest day of my life when I became debt free , apart maybe from the bar account. JS

In most of our shopping centers the bank owned ATM are gone, replaced with $2.50 a pop to get any money.
But the high street one sin the banks are still there, so no worries just use them

Where I live John they are a car ride away , they aren’t daft the ones in the shopping arcade are all of the $2.50 a pop type. Maybe Putin can afford them , I can’t just on the principle alone. JS.
