Brings back memories of a stacked rig in Invergordon, It was a very cold January, in the early 90s, and I went ashore with the electrician to get 'supplies' using the rig fast rescue boat and we spent the afternoon in the Calley bar on leaving the bar it was dark and freezing and on getting into the boat I proceeded to slide on the ice and fell into the West Harbour never felt so cold in my life, with much struggling I managed to get back in the boat and back to the rig. The next day the OIM was talking to Invergordon Port Control on the VHF who said they had witnessed the whole thing on CCTV. By the way it was the most boring time of my career being on a stacked rig for almost two years at Invergoron with only four of us on the rig, two weeks on two weeks off.
